MSU Strengthens Global Impact Readiness through THE Sustainable Impact Ratings Workshop 🌍📊
Mindanao State University (MSU), through its Quality Assurance Office, successfully organized the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainable Impact Ratings Technical Workshop on August 6–7, 2026, at the CHTM Pavilion, MSU Main Campus. The two-day activity reinforced the University’s commitment to quality assurance, institutional excellence, and global engagement by strengthening its readiness for the THE Impact Rankings, which evaluate universities based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
The workshop featured technical sessions led by Dr. Gaudencio C. Petalcorin, Jr., University Focal Person for Global Reputation, who discussed the THE Impact Rankings framework, SDG indicators, data collection, validation processes, and strategic reporting. Through interactive discussions and hands-on workshops, participants gained a deeper understanding of documenting institutional initiatives that reflect MSU’s impact in education, research, extension, environmental sustainability, and inclusive governance.
Representing the Institutional Research and Evaluation Office (IREO) were Director Dr. Wardah D. Guimba, together with IREO Staff Adliah M. Aniego and Hanifah A. Batara. Their participation highlights IREO’s continuing role in strengthening institutional research, performance evaluation, data governance, and evidence-based reporting in support of MSU’s quality assurance and global benchmarking efforts.
As the lead organizer, MSU, through its Quality Assurance Office, reaffirmed its commitment to integrating the UN SDGs across its core functions. By enhancing institutional capacity for impact measurement and international benchmarking, MSU continues to position itself as an inclusive, innovative, and globally engaged university dedicated to excellence and meaningful contribution to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
