Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT)

Alhamdulillah! The Master of Arts in Education major in Guidance Counseling (MAEd-GC) students of Muslim Mindanao Integrated College Academy (MMICA) have officially begun their On Job Training (OJT) internship at MSU-IIT on September 15, 2024.

This partnership was formally established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MMICA represented by School President Saaduddin Totop M. Bacarat, LPT, MPA, MAEd and Vice President/Acting Dean Dr. Princess Johairah N. Titiban,RN, MANc, MAEd
and MSU-IIT, represented by University Chancellor Atty. Alizedney M. Ditucalan, JD, LLM, and Officer in Charge of the Office of Guidance and Counseling Mr. Michael Alain J. Mamaug, RGC, RPm, LPT.

Our heartfelt thanks to MSU-IIT for the warm partnership and continued support in providing experiential learning opportunities for our MAEd-GC interns.

This internship aims to provide the interns with valuable practical experience in the field of guidance and counseling, complementing their academic preparation with professional exposure.

Alhamdulillah! for the successful Joint Seminar for EDCO 201 (Guidance and Counseling with Special Education) and EDUC 202 (Personality Theories and Mental Hygiene).

This event was made possible through the support of our esteemed School President, Sir Saadudin Totop M. Bacarat, LPT, MPA, MAEd, and his wife our Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Princess Johaira N. Titiban, RN, MANc, MAEd. Their steadfast commitment to quality education and unwavering guidance continue to inspire faculty and students alike to reach greater heights in their academic and professional journeys.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our distinguished invited Instructors members Sir Wendel T. Lontua, LPT, RGC, and Prof. Amirah R. Bagumbaran, LPT, RGC, for their contributions to this event.

We also acknowledge the dedication of our subject professors Prof. Hayanisah B. Bantuas (EDCO 201) and Dr. Faridah S. Abdullah (EDUC 202) whose mentorship has been instrumental to their students success.

The morning session, themed “Teaching with Heart and Mind: Fostering Inclusion and Mental Health,” featured insightful presentations by Prof. Hayanisah B. Bantuas, LPT, RGC, and Ms. Adawiyah M. Cabugatan, PhD Candidate. Their lectures emphasized empathy, inclusivity, and mental wellness in education, reminding educators to teach not only with knowledge but also with compassion.

The afternoon session, themed “Nurturing the Mind, Shaping the Self: Pathways to Healthy Personality and Mental Well-being,” delved into personal development and psychological health. We sincerely thank our esteemed speakers Dr. Faridah S. Abdullah, RGC, Dr. Sittie Zaynab Hadji Zuhayr Ali, RGC and Prof. Fatima P. Abbas, MAHIS for enriching participants understanding of mental health and personality growth.

Heartfelt thanks to the MAEd-GC Class Officers, led by Batch President Ms. Jalaisa M. Mamasarogan, PhD. who organized this successful event with exemplary leadership. And to all MAEd-GC students who actively participated your enthusiasm and cooperation made this seminar truly impactful.

The Joint Seminar stands as a testament to collaboration and our shared mission of fostering inclusion, mental health awareness, and holistic development in education.

The MAEd–SA students of Muslim Mindanao Integrated College Academy proudly completed their SPED Immersion Journey held at Marawi City SPED Center, Bangon, Marawi City from August 3–6, 2025.

Led by MAED–SA President Nihaya R. Halil, this activity served as one of their community involvement programs, reflecting the group’s compassion, dedication, and commitment to inclusive education—touching lives and learning valuable lessons from every child they served. 🌼📚

The Muslim Mindanao Integrated College Academy (MMICA) successfully conducted a Seminar-Workshop on “Designing a Human Resource Development Plan for Elementary Education” on October 5, 2024, at the Meranao Cultural Heritage Center, MSU Main Campus, Marawi City.

The event featured Dr. Fahad M. Lidasan, LPT, MAEM, MAEd, Ed.D., as the resource speaker, who shared her expertise on strategic planning and human resource development tailored for the needs of elementary education.

The program began with an invocation and the singing of the National Anthem and BARMM Hymn, followed by a welcome address from Ms. Aslia Usudan Macarimbor and messages from Princess Johairah Nasser Titiban, Vice President of MMICA.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in lectures, workshops, and interactive sessions aimed at enhancing their understanding of human resource development in educational settings. Certificates of participation and plaques of recognition were awarded to speakers and facilitators in appreciation of their contributions.

The event was smoothly hosted by Ms. Nihaya R. Halil, President of MAED-SA, who served as the Emcee of the program.

The seminar concluded with closing messages and words of gratitude from Mr. Wendel Lontua, LPT, RGC,, emphasizing MMICA’s commitment to fostering professional growth and academic excellence among future educators and administrators.

Batch GANDAWALI 2025 has truly lived up to this vision. This group is composed of exceptional students, proactive, innovative, and passionate about learning and leading.

Throughout their stay in MMICA, they were trained through various academic and leadership activities such as case studies, research work, seminar organization, class reporting, examinations, and most importantly — community involvement.
