Mindanao State University - Main Campus—A significant stride toward advancing sports development and fostering peace in Mindanao was achieved with the successful conduct of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Mindanao Sports Summit 2025 on November 6–7. Hosted by the College of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (CSPEAR) of the Mindanao State University (MSU) - Main Campus, Marawi City, and the Bangsamoro Sports Commission (BSC), the two-day summit at the International Convention Center served as a powerful platform for collaboration and strategic planning.

The summit's highlight was the official signing of two crucial Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) that solidify a collaborative future for regional sports. MSU President Atty. Paisalin P. D. Tago, CPA, led the university in signing agreements with the Philippine Sports Commission and the Bangsamoro Sports Commission.

The summit successfully strengthened the critical collaboration among Local Government Units (LGUs), academic institutions, and key sports stakeholders across Mindanao. Delegates engaged in in-depth discussions focusing on creating a long-term, inclusive sports development roadmap.

PSC Chairman Patrick "Pato" Gregorio affirmed the commitment to the region, and the BSC Chairperson Arsalan Diamaoden echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the event’s deeper purpose.

📣 OFFICIAL STATEMENT | University Intramural Games 2025

In light of the availability of our esteemed Guest Speaker, the Honorable Chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the University Intramural Games 2025 is officially rescheduled from October 25–29, 2025 to November 8–12, 2025.

This adjustment allows the MSU community to be part of a momentous occasion — hosting the Mindanao-Wide Sports Stakeholders Summit on November 6–7, 2025, a PSC-sponsored event that strengthens collaboration and advances strategic directions for sports development across Mindanao.

We look forward to a more meaningful, impactful, and inclusive celebration of sportsmanship, leadership, and unity this coming November 6–12, 2025! 💚💛

21st University Research Spotlight (URS)

This semester, the College of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (CSPEAR) rises to the challenge of hosting the 21st University Research Spotlight (URS) with the theme:
✨ “Expanding Frontiers of Knowledge for Institutional Excellence.”

The URS is a semestral university-wide event spearheaded by the Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation (MSIRC) under the leadership of Director Mahid M. Mangontarum.

Through the leadership and effort of Dean Dr. Mirian P. Aman, CSPEAR welcomes the participation of the different colleges—KFCIAAS, CED, CICS, COE, and CNSM—featuring 18 research presenters who will showcase their scholarly contributions.

This event continues MSU’s legacy of fostering research excellence and highlights the institution’s commitment to advancing innovation, scholarship, and institutional growth.
