In our commitment to ensuring the widest and most efficient dissemination of important information, the College of Engineering College Student Council (CEngCSC) has decided to transition to a new official page. This decision was formally agreed upon during the 1st Regular Meeting of CEngCSC for the month of March.

Due to certain limitations on our current page—particularly in sharing official announcements and updates from other offices—we recognized the need for a platform that allows seamless communication and real-time access to crucial information. With this move, we aim to better serve the student body by keeping everyone updated on news, events, and initiatives.

Mula sa politika, palakasan, pamamahayag, aktibismo, at beauty pageants hanggang sa larangan ng agham, medisina, sining, negosyo, at edukasyon—ang Filipina ay patuloy na nagiging haligi ng pagbabago at inspirasyon sa mundo. Hindi rin matatawaran ang sakripisyo ng ating mga OFW, na hindi lamang nagsisikap para sa kanilang pamilya kundi nag-aambag din sa kaunlaran ng bansa. Sa bawat sektor, ang kababaihang Pilipina ay patuloy na lumalaban para sa karapatan, pantay na oportunidad, at isang kinabukasang mas makatarungan at progresibo.

Ngayong International Women’s Day, ipinagdiriwang natin ang kanilang tapang, talino, at hindi matatawarang ambag sa lipunan. Patuloy tayong sumuporta, magbigay-pugay, at ipaglaban ang kinabukasan kung saan bawat Filipina ay malaya, pantay, at may boses sa mundo!✊🏼

𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘀, 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 — it’s about building sustainable communities, making lives easier, and creating solutions that improve society. 𝗜𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘆 𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻!✊🏼🎗️

Ang diwa ng 𝗘𝗗𝗦𝗔 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 ay hindi lamang isang pahina sa ating kasaysayan—ito ay isang patuloy na paalala ng tapang, pagkakaisa, at pagmamahal sa bayan. Sa ika-39 anibersaryo ng makasaysayang rebolusyon, huwag nating kalimutan ang sakripisyo ng mga Pilipinong lumaban para sa kalayaan at demokrasya. Ang kanilang tinig ay naging sigaw ng sambayanan, at ang kanilang pagkilos ay naging daan tungo sa isang bansang malaya sa pang-aapi.

Ngunit ang laban ay hindi nagtatapos sa nakaraan. Hanggang may banta sa katotohanan, hustisya, at kalayaan, tungkulin natin bilang mamamayan na ipaglaban ang tama. 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙧𝙞, 𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩, 𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙩, 𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙜𝙞 𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙜𝙤. 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 1𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 2𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔.𝗬. 2024-2025

On February 7, 2025, The College of Engineering together with the College of Engineering College Student Council (CEngCSC) successfully conducted its 1st General Assembly for the 2nd Semester of A.Y. 2024-2025, addressing key matters concerning Engineering students. The assembly began with a prayer led by Senator on Students' Rights and Welfare, Mark Ryan Palacio, followed by an Opening Remarks from the External Vice President, Jean Rivas. CEngCSC Secretary, Julius Barrun presented the Accomplishment Report for the first semester, while Senator on Finance, Maria Laiza Tabug discussed the Financial Report. The council also laid out its plans and proposals for Engineering Days 2025.

Brix Jhon Monroy, SSC Commissioner on Student Academic and Non-Academic Organizations, provided updates from the Supreme Student Council (SSC), emphasizing the upcoming visit of CHED Director J. Prospero "Popoy" de Vera III and the details regarding the Post-Valentine’s Day Celebration: "Liyag: Paglikha ng Sining, Pagsuyo ng Puso". The Open Forum, facilitated by CEngCSC President, Mark Brian Baruelo and Senator on Student Academic and Non-Academic Organizations, Paul M. Fuentes, became a platform for students to voice their concerns. A major topic discussed was the role of 4th-year Engineering students in Engineering Days 2025, which was resolved through a voting process—they will now work alongside the CEngCSC in facilitating the event. Concerns regarding Valentine’s Day Celebration tickets were also raised and answered by the SSC representatives.

With meaningful discussions and active participation, the General Assembly officially adjourned at 3:06 PM. The CEngCSC extends its gratitude to all students who took part in the assembly and encourages everyone to stay engaged in the upcoming activities, particularly the much-anticipated Engineering Days 2025!

With the goal of fostering stronger parent-faculty coordination and ensuring a collaborative approach to student development, the College of Engineering successfully conducted the 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨' 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙪𝙢 𝙤𝙣 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙮 31, 2025, 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 1:00 𝙋𝙈 𝙩𝙤 5:00 𝙋𝙈 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙀𝘽𝙀𝙎𝙈𝙎𝘾𝘼𝙏 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙃𝙖𝙡𝙡.

This forum served as a crucial platform for parents to receive important updates, gain insights into the future milestones of the College, and directly engage with faculty members regarding their concerns and inquiries.

The event commenced with an inspiring 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 by 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐍𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐥 𝐂. 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧, 𝐁𝐒𝐂𝐄 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧, who welcomed the parents and emphasized the importance of their active involvement in shaping their children's academic journey.

Following this, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐈. 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠, 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, introduced the esteemed faculty members, allowing parents to familiarize themselves with the dedicated educators responsible for guiding their children’s academic and professional growth.

To align everyone with the institution’s guiding principles, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐨 𝐑. 𝐃𝐞𝐣𝐮𝐜𝐨𝐬, 𝐁𝐒𝐂𝐡𝐄 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧, presented the 𝘿𝙀𝘽𝙀𝙎𝙈𝙎𝘾𝘼𝙏 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙮, along with the 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜'𝙨 𝙂𝙤𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙊𝙗𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨. His discussion set the tone for a shared commitment to academic advancement, innovation, and student empowerment.

One of the highlights of the forum was the election of the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, which will serve as a bridge between parents and faculty in addressing concerns and fostering student development. The enthusiasm of the parents was evident as they eagerly participated in the nominations and voting process.

After the election proceedings, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠, took the stage once again to discuss significant academic and industry-related plans for the students. He emphasized the importance of 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀, which will expose students to real-world engineering practices and enhance their understanding of professional work environments. He also spoke about the 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀, which aim to strengthen students' academic foundations to better prepare them for licensure exams and future careers.

Additionally, he discussed the implementation of 𝗼𝗻-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗢𝗝𝗧), an essential component in bridging theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, ensuring students develop the skills needed for the workforce. He introduced the concept of a 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, where students can engage in community-based projects that apply engineering solutions to societal challenges. To maintain academic excellence and ensure students meet industry standards, he elaborated on the plan to conduct an 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, which will serve as a prerequisite for students to move up to the next year level. Lastly, he shared insights on the future plans of the College of Engineering, highlighting upcoming initiatives aimed at further improving the quality of education, research, and student development.

The forum was further enriched by the presence of 𝘿𝙧. 𝙍𝙤𝙙𝙤𝙡𝙛𝙤 𝘽. Dr. Burac shared relevant updates, discussed school policies, and assured parents of the administration’s continuous support in nurturing future engineers.

The 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨' 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙪𝙢 was not just a meeting—it was a collaborative milestone that strengthened the bond between parents, faculty, and the administration, ensuring that every future engineer receives the support and guidance they need to excel. With open communication and shared dedication, the college continues to pave the way for a future where engineering education thrives and students reach greater heights.

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (WHO) calls for menstrual health to be recognized, framed, and addressed as a 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲, not just a hygiene issue.

• Lack of proper menstrual hygiene can lead to reproductive tract infections (RTIs), affecting over 300 million women globally. (WHO, 2020)

• 46% of Filipino girls feel embarrassed to talk about menstruation, perpetuating stigma and misinformation. (Philippine NGO Council, 2020)

• Cultural perceptions in the Philippines often regard menstruation as unclean, leading to stigma and misconceptions. This stigma can negatively impact women's and girls' health and well-being.

• In disaster situations, menstrual health is often under-resourced, posing challenges for women and girls in managing menstruation safely and with dignity. The Philippines, being prone to natural disasters, faces significant challenges in this area.

• The Philippine government has made policy progress in menstrual health, particularly in health and education sectors, including water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in schools. Menstrual health is explicitly addressed in national policies such as the Basic Education Development Plan 2030 and the Comprehensive Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools (WinS) Program.
