To support BSAM students during the final examination period, the Junior Agribusiness Executive Society (JABES) conducted a simple giveaway of coffee, yellow paper, and ballpens. This initiative served as a small gesture of encouragement to help students stay focused, prepared, and motivated as they completed their final requirements and examinations.

As the BSAM OST echoes through the crowd during BSAM Day, it becomes more than just a song—it reflects our shared journey as a community. Seeing students and faculty stand side by side, singing as one, highlights the strong connection we have built. In those moments, the pressure of academics fades, replaced by a sense of unity and belonging. The message of the hymn goes beyond the melody, showing our drive to grow, improve, and innovate as future agribusiness professionals.

More than that, the OST represents collaboration and purpose. Initiated by BSAM students, JABES org, and the JABES Dance Troupe, it stands as a true product of our collective effort and identity. 𝗕𝗦𝗔𝗠 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: 𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴

As part of the BSAM Day celebration, Technovation 2026 recognized exceptional student achievements in research and innovation. The awarding focused on outstanding thesis outputs and startup initiatives that showcased the skills, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset of students.

Awards were presented for Best in Thesis in Startup Pitching, Startup Exhibit, and Food Product Exhibit, highlighting innovative ideas transformed into practical business concepts. In addition, the Best Oral Thesis Presentation under the Agribusiness Research Track was given to students who demonstrated strong research capability and effective communication of their studies.

The event emphasized the importance of innovation, research, and real-world application in agribusiness, reinforcing BSAM’s commitment to developing future-ready graduates.

Sa paggunita ng Araw ng Paggawa, nakiisa ang BSAM Program sa pagdiriwang ng Labor Day, isang makabuluhang pagkakataon upang bigyang-pugay ang lahat ng manggagawang Pilipino, lalo na ang ating mga mag-aaral na nagtatrabaho.

Mas higit nitong pinagtitibay ang ating pagkilala sa kanilang hindi matatawarang sipag at sakripisyo-ang patuloy na pagsabayin ang pag-aaral at pagtatrabaho para sa pangarap na mas maayos na kinabukasan.

Sa likod ng bawat tagumpay ay mga kwentong puno ng tiyaga, disiplina, at hindi matitinag na pag-asa. Ang ating working students ay tunay na huwaran ng katatagan at determinasyon sa gitna ng hamon ng buhay.

Today, as we celebrate National Labor Day, the BS in Agribusiness Management (BSAM) Program joins the nation in recognizing the invaluable contributions of Filipino workers the backbone of our economy and the driving force of sustainable development.

Anchored on 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐨. 𝟗𝟒𝟗𝟐, which declares 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 in observance of 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲, this occasion highlights the importance of protecting workers’ rights, promoting fair labor practices, and ensuring decent working conditions for all.

From farmers and fisherfolk to entrepreneurs, laborers, and professionals, every worker plays a vital role in building resilient communities and advancing inclusive growth. In agribusiness, their dedication ensures food security, strengthens local enterprises, and sustains livelihoods across the value chain.

This celebration also reflects the principles of decent work, fair opportunities, and economic empowerment, aligned with the global vision of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly 𝐒𝐃𝐆 𝟖: 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡, which promotes productive employment and dignified labor for all.

The TechNovation 2026 – Part 1 was successfully conducted yesterday as part of the BSAM Day celebration, showcasing the innovation, creativity, and research excellence of BSAM students.

The event highlighted research presentations and product demonstrations, where students confidently presented their thesis outputs and value-added agribusiness products. Each presentation reflected not only academic rigor but also practical solutions aimed at addressing real-world challenges in agribusiness and community development.

TechNovation continues to serve as a platform for transforming ideas into impactful innovations bridging theory and practice while nurturing future-ready agribusiness professionals.

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗢𝗿𝗦𝗨 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 (𝗗𝗔𝗖𝗖) 🎉

A significant milestone was achieved today as the DOrSU Agribusiness Consumer Cooperative (DACC) was officially launched during the celebration of BSAM Day 2026, marking a major step forward in strengthening agribusiness initiatives within the university and the community.

The launching program commenced with the opening remarks of 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐊𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐘𝐯𝐞𝐭 𝐏. 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐨, 𝐌𝐁𝐀, 𝐌𝐒, BSAM Program Head, who emphasized the importance of collaborative enterprise and student-driven innovation. This was followed by an inspiring message from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐥𝐥 𝐋. 𝐁𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚, Adviser of DACC, who highlighted that the establishment of the cooperative was made possible through the dedicated efforts and research outputs of her thesis advisees.

The DACC stands as a testament to the power of academic research translated into real-world application, fostering entrepreneurship, sustainability, and community engagement. Currently, the cooperative is awaiting approval from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) for its official registration, signaling the next step toward full operation.

Indeed, the launch of DACC reflects BSAM’s commitment to developing future agribusiness leaders and building impactful, community-based enterprises.

Following the vibrant opening parade, the Morning Program Proper and Plenary Session of BSAM Day 2026 commenced, bringing together students, faculty, and stakeholders for an enriching exchange of knowledge and expertise. The event was officially opened by JABES Adviser 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐌. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐝,followed by a welcome message from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐌. 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐥𝐚, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The highlight of the opening also included the official launch of TechNovation 2026, led by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐊𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐘𝐯𝐞𝐭 𝐏. 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐨, 𝐌𝐁𝐀, 𝐌𝐒, BSAM Program Head.

The plenary session featured distinguished speakers who shared timely and relevant insights: 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚, 𝐌𝐒𝐜, 𝐅𝐒𝐂𝐎, faculty member of Davao Oriental State University, discussed “𝘍𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵-𝘶𝘱 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘍𝘰𝘰𝘥-𝘉𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘌𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦,” emphasizing the critical role of safety standards in product development; while 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜.
