A BIBLICAL DESCRIPTION OF A MOTHER
FBST Writer

She is a creation of God, fashioned in His very image: "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them" (Genesis 1:27). She was given a unique place in the beginning, for "Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living" (Genesis 3:20), bearing the high honour of bringing forth life into the world. Her womb is a sacred vessel, where God forms the soul: "For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb... I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:13–14). She knows the pain and joy of bringing forth new life, even as the Lord declared: "In sorrow thou shalt bring forth children" (Genesis 3:16), yet He turns that sorrow into gladness: "When she hath brought forth the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world" (John 16:21).

Her love is tender, patient, and enduring—so much so that God uses it to describe His own compassion toward His people: "As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem" (Isaiah 66:13). Her affection is deep and unshakable, for though human hearts may fail, "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee" (Isaiah 49:15). She watches over her little ones with diligence, never slumbering in care: "She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness" (Proverbs 31:27).

She is a teacher of truth and a guide in righteousness, laying the foundation of faith early in life: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). Her words are filled with wisdom and grace: "She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness" (Proverbs 31:26). Her instruction is precious, for the Scriptures declare: "My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: for they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck" (Proverbs 1:8–9). She builds her home in the fear of the Lord, knowing that "Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands" (Proverbs 14:1).

She is a woman of strength and dignity, clothed with virtues that outlast fading beauty: "Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come... Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised" (Proverbs 31:25, 30). She labours tirelessly, yet does not grow weary in doing good: "She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy... Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates" (Proverbs 31:20, 31).

She is a woman of prayer, bringing her children before the throne of grace, even as Hannah did of old: "For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD" (1 Samuel 1:27–28). She treasures the works of God in her heart, pondering His ways: "But Mary kept all these sayings, and pondered them in her heart" (Luke 2:19). She stands firm in faith, refusing to leave her children in times of trouble: "And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee" (2 Kings 4:30).

Her greatest joy is not found in worldly gain, but in seeing her children walk in truth: "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth" (3 John 1:4). When her labours bear fruit, she receives the highest honour from those who know her: "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all" (Proverbs 31:28–29). God Himself commands that she be esteemed: "Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee" (Exodus 20:12), for "Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness" (Proverbs 20:20).

Truly, she is a gift from the Lord: "He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD" (Psalm 113:9).

Thus, from the MVIBC post: Proverbs 31:28 “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers and to every woman who lovingly stands as a mother to others.

Your care, prayers, guidance, and kindness have touched many lives. Whether by birth or by love, your nurturing heart is truly a blessing from the Lord.

God bless always.

Institutional Identity

Fundamental Baptist School of Theology is an ecclesiastical institution, established as a ministry under the Mt. Vernon Independent Baptist Church. It operates under the auspices of the Baptist Ministerial Advocates of the Philippines, Inc.

Our programs evaluate theological knowledge, practical skills, professional accomplishments, and lifelong learning, upholding the value of moral and intellectual excellence. Thr primary purpose of the theological institution is to properly equip men and women of God towards ministry and professionals to elevate their moral ascendancy on their chosen careera and expertise.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
— 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

FBST has its main office in Pampanga and operates approximately 12 campuses through affiliated church schools nationwide. Its branch, the Institute for Secular Studies (ISS), maintains learning centers in about 10 countries. The institution has established facilities, qualified scholars, and faculty who graduated from various theological seminaries in the United States, teaching in fields aligned with their expertise. Our curriculum is both comprehensive and rigorous. Graduates are required to meet full standards in both academic and ecclesiastical requirements.

"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
— 2 Timothy 2:2 (KJV)

Non-Recognition by CHED

Fundamental Baptist School of Theology does not grant formal academic degrees recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of the Philippines. Credentials issued under our ecclesiastical programs are not valid for professional licensure, employment, or further education within government-regulated systems.

We maintain a partnership with Texas Baptist Bible College located in Texas, USA. The ISS also holds various local and international affiliations under the ARCH Consortium.

"Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's."
— Luke 20:25 (KJV)

Nature of Recognition

All awards given are ceremonial in nature, with both national and international scope. They are not equivalent to degrees from accredited universities, nor do they satisfy legal requirements under Philippine law or other regulatory bodies.

However, most of these recognitions are issued and conducted with proper advisories or official communications from the Department of Education (DepEd), to inform the public—especially those in education, research, and leadership. The conduct of the awarding ceremony is a long process. It is the culture of the institute to weigh evidences of credentials and aptitudes.

The seminary strictly rejects "vanity awards," profit-driven schemes, and false representations disguised as formal ceremonies. We uphold honors that are earned through faith, scholarship, and excellence. Our standards remain high.

"And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity."
— 2 Peter 1:5-7 (KJV)

Participant’s Agreement

By enrolling in any of our programs—from the Basic Bible Course to Postdoctoral studies—the recipient acknowledges that:
- The recognition is ecclesiastical, symbolic, honorary, and non-academic. "Ecclesiastical" is defined as Christ-centered, ministry-focused, faith-based, and aligned with the Holy Scriptures.
- The participant accepts this recognition solely as an honor bestowed by the institution, locally and internationally. Specific standards are set forth in our Quality, Competency, and Evaluation Standards (QCES).
- The seminary does not accept monetary payment in exchange for honors or titles. All recognitions are granted based on merit and achievement.
- We remain faithful to our ministry principles while being open to initiatives that promote truth and unity. Our Peace Education Committee under the ISS serves as a platform for dialogue and understanding among people of different beliefs.
- The participant waives any claim that these credentials are equivalent to government-recognized degrees. Completion requires attendance in lectures, webinars, seminars, professional development courses, and submission of required academic work such as theses and dissertations.

"But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price."
— 1 Peter 3:4 (KJV)

Liability Clause

The institution shall not be held responsible for any misrepresentation or misuse of credentials beyond their intended ceremonial purpose. These awards cannot be used to replace any legal, professional, or government requirements.

Note: Activities conducted with official DepEd advisories or permits are exempted from this clause.

The seminary provides education without financial burden to its students.

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
— John 8:32 (KJV)

Ceremonial Rites

The processional march, wearing of academic regalia, and awarding ceremony are symbolic traditions conducted according to the institution’s standards. They do not represent graduation from a government-recognized program.

Two types of academic attire are used—formal and informal—including the prescribed decorated sablay. These symbols should only be worn on appropriate occasions and should be carried with dignity, honor, and humility.

"Let all things be done decently and in order."
— 1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV)

Biblical Precepts

This event is a celebration of personal and professional achievements. It operates independently from national educational systems, designed to honor the individual while ensuring legal clarity and compliance, in accordance with the Scriptures:

2 Timothy 3:15-17 (KJV)
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Fundamental Baptist School of Theology Celebrates 18th Commencement, Graduates from Across Luzon in a Grand Testament to Accessible Theological Education

PAMPANGA, Philippines – In a grand celebration marking nearly two decades of unwavering commitment to theological education, the Fundamental Baptist School of Theology (FBST), in robust partnership with the esteemed Texas Baptist Bible College USA, proudly hosted its 18th Graduation Ceremony on February 28, 2026. The inspiring event, held within the welcoming halls of the Mt. Vernon Independent Baptist Church, was a vibrant tribute to the academic and spiritual journeys of graduates hailing from diverse campuses, including Cavite, Bataan, and the flagship Pampanga Main Campus.

This significant milestone underscores the vision and tireless efforts of Bishop Marvin E. Edorolam, the pioneering spirit who founded the Bible school way back in 2007. His foresight laid the groundwork for an institution that has since become a beacon of accessible and profound theological learning, touching countless lives and shaping future leaders.

The graduating class represented an impressive breadth of theological scholarship, with students having meticulously completed programs spanning the foundational Basic Bible Course all the way to advanced Doctorate degrees. This diverse academic offering reflects FBST's dedication to nurturing individuals at every stage of their theological development. The ceremony’s profound theme, "Iron sharpeneth iron," a timeless wisdom drawn from the King James Version of Proverbs 27:17, resonated deeply throughout the day's proceedings. The powerful and thought-provoking message was passionately delivered by the esteemed Rev. Ptr. Bernie J. Panes Jr., whose insightful sermon left an indelible mark on graduates and the assembled congregation, inspiring them to continue their spiritual growth and mutual encouragement.

A truly distinguished assembly of guests graced the auspicious occasion, further highlighting the widespread impact and recognition of FBST's mission. Prominent figures from the academe, the military, and various theological institutes were in attendance, underscoring the vital contributions FBST makes to both intellectual discourse and spiritual formation within the broader community. Their presence served as a powerful affirmation of the institution's standing and the caliber of its graduates.

FBST has consistently distinguished itself through its unwavering commitment to providing accessible and comprehensive theological education. Graduates have embarked on and successfully completed rigorous yet flexible learning experiences, benefiting from a cutting-edge multi-modal approach that seamlessly integrates online modules, self-paced modular studies, and engaging face-to-face lectures. This dynamic and adaptable learning environment is meticulously crafted and passionately delivered by a dedicated faculty, comprised of highly qualified professors who possess advanced degrees from both secular and ecclesiastical institutions. This unique blend of expertise ensures a rich, well-rounded, and academically rigorous journey for every student. The institution's steadfast dedication to its students' success is further amplified by its core philosophy, proudly proclaiming that "Learning is guaranteed. Education is free." This remarkable commitment removes financial barriers, providing invaluable opportunities for aspiring theologians and ministers from all walks of life to pursue their calling and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The 18th Graduation Ceremony was far more than just a celebration of individual academic achievements; it stood as a powerful testament to FBST's enduring mission to equip individuals with the knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual fortitude necessary for effective service and impactful leadership within their local communities and extending far beyond. It was a reaffirmation of Bishop Marvin Edrosolam' s initial vision and the collective dedication that has sustained this vital institution for nearly two decades.

Lecture with Bishop Marvin Edrosolam

In congregations across communities, there are pastors who carry out their duties with steady grace—even as illness weighs on their bodies. Their voices may be softened by congestion, their steps slower than usual, yet they never complain, driven by a deep sense of calling to care for their flock.

For these leaders, neglecting ministry feels unthinkable. Worship services need shepherding, members facing hardship seek guidance, Bible studies require preparation, and the vulnerable depend on their presence. They move through tasks—visiting the sick, leading prayers, counseling families—with quiet resolve, putting the needs of their community before their own comfort.

While this selfless commitment inspires faith and unity, it also underscores the toll that such dedication can take. Prolonged illness may slow recovery, and even the strongest leaders need rest to sustain their ability to serve well. It points to the importance of building supportive church communities where both spiritual care and practical help for pastors are prioritized.

In their quiet perseverance, these pastors remind us that devotion is not just about strength in ease, but about faithfulness even when the path feels heavy.

Please pray for the eye operation of our dear bishop. Please contact Sister Rosemarie Tulabot Edrosolam.
