Malugod na pagbati sa mga estuyante ng Batch 𝑺𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒉𝒂𝒚𝒂 2026, mula sa UPV Kamaragtas! Matapos nang lahat ng pagsubok at leksyon ng mga estudyante ng BA History, makakamit na ng labing dalawang magtatapos na mag-aaral ang bunga ng kanilang paghihirap.

Sa inyong pagtapak palabas ng unibersidad, nawa’y dala ninyo hindi lang ang tungkulin bilang mga historyador na taga-ulat ng nakaraan, pati na rin ang responsibilidad bilang mga Iskolar ng Bayan. Ang pagsulat ng kasaysayan ay hindi nagtatapos sa mga papel dahil kailangan itong isabuhay lalo na sa tuwing nagsusulat, nagsusuri, at paglilingkod sa masa.

Patuloy na lumaban at paglingkuran nang matapat ang bayan!

June 19, 2026 marked the launching of the 100-volume cultural inventory of the Cultural Mapping of Panay and Guimaras (CMPG) Project, started in 2023, in collaboration by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the University of the Philippines Visayas, in partnership with the regions SUC’s: Aklan State University, University of Antique, Capiz State University, Guimaras State University, West Visayas State University, Iloilo Science and Technology University, and Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology.

Building on the success of the standardized trainings and months of community integration, the hundred volume of cultural mapping featuring all municipalities in Panay and Guimaras, documented, preserved, and reclaimed the culture, identity, and lived realities of the local communities.

The event highlighted that heritage conservation goes beyond preserving the past; it also serves as a means of reclaiming community identities and promoting tourism development, as reiterated by Ms. Anna Razel Ramirez, CMPG Project Leader.

Thus, as the University of the Philippines Visayas stands as the only SUC in the region offering a Bachelor of Arts (History) program, senior BA (History) students took part on the said event to stand with the same call: history, and records such as cultural maps should not merely remain as archives of the past but as directories of the future.
