John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) and Vietnam Maritime University formalized their commitment to academic collaboration through a Virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony, marking a significant step toward strengthening international maritime education and cooperation.

The ceremony was led by JBLFMU Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ronald Raymond L. Sebastian, joined by Capt. Luis G. Evidente, Board Member; Dr. Virmari S. Tan, International Relations Director; Dr. Ma. Elena Eleperia, Academic Director; Dr. Brian Gil Sarinas, OIC Research Director; together with the International Relations Officers of the academic units and the Dean of the Graduate School.

This partnership underscores both institutions shared vision of advancing maritime excellence through global engagement, faculty and student exchanges, and collaborative research initiatives.

Dr. Mary Lou Lacson-Arcelo, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and President Emeritus of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU), has been recognized as one of the Business Icons in the Visayas during the 35th Visayas Area Business Conference held at L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City.

The prestigious award honors Dr. Lacson-Arcelo’s exemplary leadership, enduring contributions to education and enterprise development, and her significant role in advancing economic growth and excellence across the Visayas region. Her recognition stands as a testament to her visionary stewardship and impactful legacy in both the academic and business communities.
