𝐀 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐃𝐮𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭

On this special day, we commemorate the birth of Congressman Bibit Duavit, whose passing in December 2018 left a profound void in the Province of Rizal. His steadfast commitment to advancing education and his dedicated support to the University of Rizal System remain integral to our institutional history.

Congressman Bibit was a pillar of educational progress—strengthening programs, expanding opportunities, and championing the welfare of students and communities across the province. As we remember him today, we reaffirm our appreciation for his invaluable contributions and the lasting legacy he built through service and leadership.

Happy birthday in heaven, Congressman Bibit! Your vision and generosity continue to guide and inspire the University of Rizal System.

LOOK: The Fisheries Society conducted a tree planting activity on November 24, 2025. The organization extended its appreciation to the Sangguniang Kabataan – Dalig and the Sangguniang Barangay – Dalig for their valuable support in this initiative.

The College of Business successfully hosted a benchmarking visit from Rizal Technological University (RTU) on November 20, 2025, aimed at strengthening collaboration and enhancing institutional linkages between URS and the RTU Pasig Branch. The activity started with welcome remarks from Dr. Joanne S. Concepcion, Campus Director, followed by a message of support from Dr. Allan T. Conde, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The RTU Pasig delegation—headed by Dr. Kathryn D. Tria, Dean of the College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy, together with Associate Dean Dr. Jessie F. Sergote and the Program Chairs, was warmly welcomed by Dr. Irene E. Abe, Dean of the College of Business, along with Program Heads Dr. Ma. Linda R. Fernandez, Dr. Albert Q. Clemente, Prof. Myra M. Salindong, and Prof. Rosechel R. Corral. Dr. Eden C. Santos and Prof. Jonas D. Ynares were also in attendance.
Dr. Abe, the College Dean, presented the College’s best practices and notable achievements.

The activity concluded with fruitful discussions and the establishment of a foundation for collaboration, ensuring enhanced linkages and mutual benefits for both institutions.

The College of Business extends its sincere gratitude to the URS Administration, led by University President Dr. Nancy T. Pascual, for their unwavering support and guidance.

The Ortigas Foundation Inc., through its Director Mr. John Silva, generously donated 10 boxes of books to the University of Rizal System Libraries — a meaningful contribution to education and literacy.

Book donations like these help enrich library collections, expand access to knowledge, and inspire a culture of reading among students and researchers.

The books were gratefully received by the University Librarian on October 30, 2025, at the Ortigas Foundation Library.

LOOK: 𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐑, 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥

Through the shared initiative of Dr. Nancy T. Pascual, University President, and Dr. Florante J. Mercado, URS Rodriguez Campus Director, URSR was finally granted of its long-time request to rights of land through the usufruct ceremonial signing between URS Adminstrators and Local Government Unit representatives led by Hon. Ronnie S. Evangelista, Municipal Mayor, at URSR Function Hall, October 27.

Under the usufructuary, URSR is now authorized to utilize the 12, 498-square-meter property—land where the campus stands, for educational advancement purposes and achieving the university's vision of having sustainable resources and providing quality services. The agreement was inked by Dr. Pascual, Dr. Mercado, Hon. Evangelista alongside Hon. Edgardo Z. Sison, Municipal Vice Mayor and Hon. Richard M. Buizon, Municipal Councilor, witnessed by college deans, faculty, student-leaders, and URSR staff.

"The Usufruct agreement is very important sa vision ng URS. Mas mapapangalagaan natin ang resources at mas mapagaganda ang services. Malaya na tayo na makakapag-build ng laboratories and facilities dahil nabigyan na tayo ng right na gamitin at paunlarin ang paaralan." Dr. Pascual said.

In addition, she also expressed her gratitude to the partnership made between the institution and Municipality of Rodriguez "It is not only a legal act but a strong symbol between the institution and LGU's shared vision and mission for the university."

Hon. Evangelista also shared that the momentous occasion is a manifestation of continuous development for URSR. According to him, the LGU of Montalban will always support the institution for the welfare of the students and educators by all means.
