ORIENTED & INDUCTED! 🌊

The Department of Aquaculture, under the Institute of Graduate Studies (IGS) of Central Luzon State University (CLSU), successfully conducted its Orientation and Induction of Officers for graduate students and student leaders at Abella Hall, CF/FAC on September 15, 2026!

Dr. Hazel Monica M. Peralta, Department Chair of Aquaculture, opened the event with an inspiring welcome message for the guests, graduate students and faculty members.

A special highlight of the program was the recognition of the outgoing graduate student officers (A.Y. 2025-2026), who received certificates of appreciation in recognition of their dedication and service to the organization.

Dr. Alona T. Badua, Dean of the Institute of Graduate Studies, administered the oath of office for the newly elected officers, reinforcing CLSU's commitment to empowering graduate student leaders.

The attendees gained valuable wisdom and inspiration from distinguished alumni speakers: Dr. Maureen G. Tamayo, Dean of the College of Fisheries of Laguna State Polytechnic University (CF-LSPU), represented by Dr. Nora M. Matusalem, Assoc. IV, reflected on her own journey, sharing how her time in graduate school played a pivotal role in shaping both her professional career and personal growth.

Asst. Prof. Lara Millen S. Pengson, College Registrar of College of Fisheries and Chief of Extension Division of Freshwater Aquaculture Center, delivered a warm and encouraging message acknowledging how demanding graduate studies can be, while offering key advice on how to navigate the journey and reminding everyone of how truly fulfilling the destination is.

Following the inspiring messages, selected graduate students delivered a heartfelt response on behalf of their peers.

To further equip our graduate students for their academic journey, Dr. Hazel Monica M. Peralta led comprehensive orientation session. She provided an overview of the department's academic policies, degree requirements, and expected timelines, while highlighting the vast research opportunities available to help elevate the students' academic and professional endeavors.

The activity concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Alona T. Badua, Dean of the Institute of Graduate Studies, who expressed her sincere appreciation to the organizers, guest speakers, and attendees. She encouraged the graduate students and newly inducted officers to maintain close collaboration, stay resilient through their academic pursuits, and continuously uphold the department's legacy of leadership and research excellence.

IN PHOTOS | Stakeholder Consultation Planning Meeting

The College of Science convened a planning meeting led by Asst. Prof. Henrison C. Sanchez in preparation for the conduct of the Comprehensive Stakeholder Consultation for Curriculum Updating.

The meeting, which consists of College and Department OJT Coordinators and Alumni Coordinators, focused on the planning and preparation of the consultation, including the identification of relevant stakeholders, matters for discussion, inputs to be solicited, and other necessary arrangements for the respective academic programs under the College.

The activity is pursuant to OVPAA Memorandum No. 2026-08-25, which calls for comprehensive stakeholder consultations to support the review and updating of academic programs.

𝐂𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐩 𝟐𝟎𝟑𝟓

The Teacher Education Council (TEC) is taking a significant step toward shaping the future of teacher education in the Philippines through the Teacher Education Roadmap 2035 Caravan, a four-day national gathering held from September 22–25, 2026, at Saint Louis University in Baguio City.

Representing Central Luzon State University (CLSU) are Univ. Prof. Dr. Florante P. Ibarra, Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Edwin D. Ibañez, Chair of the Department of Science Education; Dr. Verjun J. Dilla, Chair of the Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education; and Mr. Melvin S. Valdez, alongside Dr. Bernard Pantonilla of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III).

Anchored on Republic Act No. 11713, the caravan advances the TEC’s mandate to strengthen and continuously improve the quality of teacher education and the professional preparation of teachers and school leaders across the country.

Through Roadmap 2035, stakeholders come together to build a shared national vision for teacher education—one that recognizes teachers as more than facilitators of learning, but as professionals, leaders, and key contributors to resilient communities and a stronger Philippine education system.

The participation of the CED delegation reflects CLSU’s continuing commitment to professional development, meaningful collaboration, innovation, and excellence in teacher education.

𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 | The 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗜) recently met with the systems developers and faculty members of the 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗢).

The meeting focused on aligning initiatives and coordinating efforts between our offices to ensure our digital systems seamlessly support the University's OBE framework and address recommendations from previous AUN-QA visits.

During the session, Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, OLOI Head, provided a walkthrough of the OBE system to familiarize the newly hired systems developer, while Dr. Khavee Augustus W. Botangen, MISO Director, shared the initial steps currently being undertaken by MISO.

Signifying the administration's strong commitment to these efforts, VPAA Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco honored the meeting with her attendance, expressing her full support for this vital partnership.
