CALLING ALL AGRI-FISHERY RESEARCHERS!

The 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 (𝗡𝗥𝗦) is open for paper submissions! Organized by the DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR), this year's theme is "R4D Excellence: Driving Progress, Delivering Impact."

We’re inviting Filipino scientists and researchers from DA units and attached agencies, state universities and colleges, and other government institutions under the DA’s National Agriculture and Fisheries R&D System (NaRDSAF) that conducts R&D work in agriculture and fisheries.

Eligible papers must feature work completed between August 2023 and August 2026.

The NRS culminates in the AFMA Research Paper Award, which recognizes researchers whose work has delivered impactful technologies, information, processes, or systems to the agriculture and fisheries sector.

Sa gitna ng mga pagbabagong humuhubog sa ating pagka-Pilipino, nananatiling mahalagang ugnayan ang wika sa pagitan ng kaalamang minana natin at ng kaalamang patuloy nating nililikha.

Kaya naman, masigasig nating tangkilikin at gamitin ang wikang Filipino bilang kasangkapan sa pananaliksik at tulay sa pagpapalaganap ng kaalaman.

Happening Now | Presentation of Project Proposal of the DPYSP Luzon Mentees

Our DPYSP Luzon Year 2 Batch 1 mentees are taking the stage for their Elevator Pitching Session, where they showcase the knowledge, skills, and insights they have gained throughout their journey in the program.

Each mentee presents their ideas with confidence, creativity, and passion, demonstrating their growth as future scientists, innovators, and leaders. We are excited to witness their remarkable presentations and celebrate their achievements!

The DOST-PCAARRD Youth Science Program in the Regions (DPYSP) Luzon Year 2 – Batch 3 officially commenced with an inspiring opening program led by Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, followed by Dr. Melanie Tolentino, Director of the Center for Central Luzon Studies and Project Lead, who shared the program’s background and rationale. Mentees from various Philippine Science High School campuses enthusiastically expressed their expectations and aspirations for the program, setting the tone for a meaningful learning journey. The opening concluded with an insightful lecture on Youth Development by Dr. Jayson Marzan, encouraging the young scholars to maximize their potential as future leaders, innovators, and scientists.

Dreams took flight as the DOST-PCAARRD Youth Science Program in the Regions (DPYSP) Luzon Year 2 – Batch 3 officially opened on May 25, 2026, at Central Luzon State University.

Participating mentees from the Philippine Science High School System began their learning journey through meaningful activities designed to inspire innovation, leadership, and scientific inquiry. One of the highlights of the opening program was the creation of their “Eroplanong Pangarap,” where each mentee wrote their aspirations and goals as they embark on this exciting adventure. These paper airplanes symbolized not only their dreams but also their commitment to reach greater heights through science and research. As their 15-day mentorship journey unfolds, we look forward to seeing these young scientists transform their dreams into impactful realities.

NEWS | CLSU Welcomes 3rd Batch of Youth Science Program

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially welcomes the Batch 3 students from the Philippine Science High School Luzon campuses: Cagayan Valley Campus, Bicol Region Campus, Central Luzon Campus, and CALABARZON Campus for the DOST-PCAARRD Youth Science Program (DPYSP), which will run from May 25 to June 17, 2026.

This 15-day program marks another meaningful journey of mentoring, immersion, and community of practice, aiming to inspire young minds to see the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR) sector as a field of innovation, leadership, and nation-building.

Throughout the program, the participants will be guided by mentors and resource persons, comprising experts from CLSU and the Community of Elders of DOST-PCAARRD, who will share their knowledge, experience, and inspiration in the fields of science, technology, agriculture, aquatic resources, and natural resources.

Building from the accomplishments of Year 1, DPYSP continues to provide senior high school students with opportunities to engage with scientists, researchers, mentors, and communities through hands-on learning experiences. More than learning about agriculture and science, the program aims to strengthen students’ awareness, positive perceptions, and aspirations for S&T careers in AANR, showing them that agriculture is not only about farming but also about technology, research, sustainability, and service to communities.

The project is led by Dr. Melanie P. Tolentino, together with Mr. Junior M. Pacol and Ms. Erica Fae De Fiesta as project staff, and Ms. Lovely Sacare and Mr. Brandon Alan N. Lamson as research assistants.
