HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! Let's enter 2026 with 2016 vibes: happy, carefree, and optimistic! ✨🌴🕶️

Akala niyo second year na noh? did you also wish we had a 6,7🫴🏻😛 🫴🏻 weeks of sem break? Well... we did not! but the important thing is, we are back at it again to continue our second semester!

Let’s not fully rely on eating 12 grapes, leave the brainrot 🦈 🏏 and performative kit 📖 🍵 instead let's make the most out of the year, as there are a lot of exciting opportunities ahead for BAIS! 👀 ✈️

Although our vacation was cut short, let's have our best foot forward. Let the weight we carried in 2025 be a lesson of the past.

Rooted, Rising, and Ready to Go Global | BAIS First Year Anniversary

As we mark the first anniversary of the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, we celebrate a program defined by strength, vision, and opportunity. Recognized as one of the strongest faculty departments in the university and a program–first of its kind in North and Central Luzon, BAIS continues to open doors beyond borders.

Dean Jay C. Santos reminded the community that BAIS was envisioned beyond national borders, designed to shape students who can move confidently in international spaces. Anchored on its call to “Go Global,” the program continues to encourage students to look outward, think globally, and engage with the world beyond the classroom.

The anniversary gathering embodied this spirit through shared experiences that brought learning and community together, from a Korean cooking demonstration led by Miss Kim Suhyeon, Ma'am Ella Joy A. Ponce, and Dr. Allan Jay Esteban to a boodle fight and an open mic that gave space for voices, talents, and creativity. These moments reflected the heart of BAIS: cultural appreciation, connection, and student expression.

One year in, BAIS moves forward with purpose—rooted in its foundations, rising through opportunity, and ready to engage the world.

Today, we mark the first part of the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (BAIS) anniversary, celebrating a year of learning, dialogue, and shared purpose. The program reflected our growth as a community grounded in critical thinking and global awareness, concluding with a film that highlighted international issues as lived realities shaped by memory and resilience.

The lecture opened with Ambassador Laura Q. Del Rosario’s discussion on the evolving world order, emphasizing the roles of state and non-state actors, governance systems, and key international and national social issues.

The program further highlighted 21st century skills, with Dr. Kebart P. Licayan discussing the interconnectedness of learning, literacy, and life skills for employability in a changing job market. Ms. Lei Andrea San Juan concluded the program by sharing insights on finding purpose through specialization, service, and socially impactful career paths.

At its core, the event reaffirmed BAIS students’ role as scholars of sustainability and agents of change, committed to applying knowledge toward collective goals while upholding the values of curiosity, engagement, and critical understanding.

As this semester comes to a close, we celebrate the lessons we’ve learned, the friendships we’ve built, and the growth we’ve achieved together. One semester down, 7 semesters to go 🥹 Manifesting everyone had a good run in this chapter.

But our adventure is far from over — we’ll be boarding again soon!

LOOK I CHED Approves Offering of CLSU Bachelor of Arts in International Studies Program

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has officially received the Certificate of Program of Compliance from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to operate its new undergraduate program, the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies—Global Sustainable Development (BAIS).

The program will be the first in Central and Northern Luzon, positioning CLSU as a leader in innovative education focused on global issues. As the sixth undergraduate program under the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), the BAIS program is designed to cultivate professionals with a comprehensive understanding of international challenges that transcend national boundaries.

The program complements the existing academic offerings of the university while also highlighting CLSU's commitment to addressing pressing global issues. Unique to CLSU BAIS is its integration of the key themes of sustainable development.

The curriculum will not only equip students with critical and practical skills in culture studies, migration, and labor welfare within the global context but also provide them with the tools needed to engage meaningfully in discussions and actions surrounding global sustainability and development such as climate change, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and food security.

Enrollment for the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies - Global Sustainable Development is set to begin next school year, 2025-2026.
