The PLMun Psychology Department successfully held its Third Pinning Ceremony on January 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the PLMun Quadrangle, marking a significant milestone for its 4th-year BS Psychology students. The event was attended by proud guardians, esteemed faculty members, university officials, and Muntinlupa City officials, all gathered to celebrate the studentsโ transition toward professional practice.
The program opened with a warm welcome from Ms. Arlene Grace R. Avenue, the emcee, that set a celebratory tone for the afternoon. This was followed by the Doxology, the singing of the National Anthem, and the Muntinlupa March, which then led to the opening remarks of Dr. Erickson A. Amion, RPsy, RPm, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. In his message, he emphasized that while the pin may be small, it carries a powerful message of readiness, responsibility, and a deep commitment to upholding human dignity through service.
Inspiring messages were shared by distinguished guests. Hon. Stephanie G. Teves-Wong, Vice Mayor of Muntinlupa City, reminded students that the ceremony symbolizes their chosen calling, encouraging them to practice empathy while maintaining healthy boundaries. Dr. Danilo B. Solayao, Vice President for Academic Affairs, highlighted that this milestone marks the studentsโ shift from classroom learning to meaningful community engagement, with values and empathy as their strongest tools.
The highlight of the ceremony was the pinning of the 4th-year BS Psychology students, who were introduced by batch and accompanied on stage by their loved ones and distinguished members of the Psychology Department. The act of pinning, led by their parents and guardians, symbolized years of hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering support.
As the program drew to a close, the students affirmed their commitment through the Pledge of Commitment led by Ms. Ameera Jahnne Cabusao, Psychology Society President. This was followed by an inspiring talk from the Guest Speaker, Ms. Chris Angelie M. Belen, RPm, who shared insights on self-awareness, the value of internships, and the lessons found in every experience.
The department also extended its heartfelt gratitude to its generous sponsors from Datacentric Corporation, led by Ms. Melanie Angeles, President, and Ms. Marittes Porlage, Senior People Advisory Manager, for their support and the thoughtful gift certificates given to selected students.
The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Geneil A. Poblete, RPm, MA, OIC of the Psychology Department, who reminded the students that the pin represents both knowledge and values.
The evening ended on a heartfelt note as students lit their flashlights and sang โWith a Smile,โ symbolizing hope, unity, and the beginning of their professional journey.
