Universidad de Sta. Isabel of Naga, Inc. proudly celebrates the successful Research and Dance Presentation of PAGMAMANTO at the Madya Bayle: A Dance Showcase of Bicol’s Cultural Heritage, held at UST-Legazpi on September 25, 2026.

𝘼 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙀𝙩𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙖𝙜𝙢𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙤: 𝙈𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙂𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙮 explores the embodied gestures, movements, relationships, and devotional sequence of Pagmamanto, a Bicolano Marian devotional practice associated with Our Lady of Peñafrancia. Through performance ethnography and symbolic gesture mapping, the research translates these documented embodied and cultural elements into a choreographic performance that brings scholarly inquiry into dialogue with movement, music, and cultural expression.

𝗨𝗦𝗜 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁. 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 🕊

Last 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟯, the USI community came together with its new partner communities from the sitios of 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝘄𝗶𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗴𝘆. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻, 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 , 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗮 to commemorate the 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁. 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹.

Held at various areas of the USI campus, including the 𝗨𝗦𝗜 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, the celebration brought participants together through meaningful conversations, interactive activities, games, and the distribution of household essentials. More than a celebration, the gathering provided an opportunity for the community to learn more about St. Vincent de Paul and the values that shaped his life and mission.

St. Vincent de Paul dedicated his life to serving those in need, choosing to extend his vocation beyond the pursuit of personal advancement and toward a life of faith, compassion, and service. His enduring commitment to the poor and marginalized continues to inspire communities to see service not simply as an act of giving, but as a responsibility to uplift others.

As a Vincentian institution founded in the tradition and mission of St. Vincent de Paul and the Daughters of Charity, USI carries this spirit of service toward—building meaningful partnerships and creating spaces where faith is expressed through compassion and action.

𝗛𝘂𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 🔰 | The Universidad de Sta. Isabel de Naga community is very proud to congratulate 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗷𝗮 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗼, for being formally conferred as a 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗡)!

On September 19, he was conferred this 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 during the 𝟮𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆. Looking back on this achievement, Anthony expressed his gratitude for the education, values, discipline, and professional foundation he received from the Universidad de Sta. Isabel de Naga, Inc. His journey as a nurse continues to reflect the knowledge, skills, and values instilled in him during his years at USI.

This achievement marks a proud moment not only for Anthony but also for the USI College of Health Sciences – Nursing Department and the entire Vincentian community. His accomplishment serves as a testament to the enduring impact of Vincentian education and formation, carried with him as he continues to make a difference in the nursing profession.

As the University celebrates 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, Universidad de Sta. Isabel de Naga, Inc. marks another milestone in strengthening pharmacy education through the 𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The USI College of Health Sciences, together with the Daughters of Charity, faculty members, and guests, gathered at the 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗟𝗠 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 to formally bless the new facilities: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.

Equipped with resources for laboratory instruction and practical activities, these facilities provide BS Pharmacy students with dedicated spaces to apply classroom learning, develop technical competencies, and gain hands-on experience throughout their studies.

More than additional facilities, these laboratories create greater opportunities for students to learn through practice and prepare for the responsibilities of their chosen profession. May these spaces support their journey toward becoming knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate pharmacy professionals.

Today, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟕, we honor the 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭. 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥, whose life was marked by a profound love for God and a steadfast commitment to those living in poverty and hardship.

His example calls us to make compassion more than a virtue—to let it move us toward service, solidarity, and action. May we continue to carry forward the spirit of St. Vincent by recognizing the dignity of every person and responding with generous hearts to those most in need.
