Most artists find their medium through curiosity. Guia found hers through necessity.
๐๐๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐น ๐ฉ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ฎ๐ณ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ once felt graphic design is too limiting. But through her experience as a designer and former head of ThePILLARS Publication's Art Department, she learned that structure, her biggest frustration, was actually what gave her work weight and intention.
Her process, as meticulous and as personal as it is, doesn't look like much to an outsider. Pinterest spirals. Five hours on a single font. Kerning adjustments every thirty minutes because something's a bit off. She calls each piece her "brain baby." The chaos is real, but so is the care behind her work.
Growing up morena, Guia was told that bright colors weren't for her. She's spent her life as an artist proving otherwise. Her work is loud, unafraid, and sometimes dangerous, which only confirmed what she already knew: art was never meant to be polite.
As she is nearing the end of her college years, she doesn't pretend to have all the answers. But she knows what stays: advocating for women in her community, creating art as a protest, and believing that the urge to create will show up once you've found something worth fighting for.
