- Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.

On August 21, we honor the life and sacrifice of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., who courageously stood up to fight for democracy and the Filipino people. Born in Tarlac, Ninoy once served as a Mayor of Concepcion and Governor of Tarlac before being elected as a senator in the 7th Congress.

As we commemorate Ninoy Aquino Day, may we continue to remember his struggle and the values he stood for. Let us carry forward the spirit of unity, courage, and bravery to the next generation, reminding us that the future of our nation depends on the collective efforts of every Filipino.

𝗝𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗘 𝗠. 𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗢 𝗗𝗔𝗬 | 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘀 🎗️

Jesse Manalastas Robredo, the late husband of former Vice President and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo, was a former DILG Secretary and a former Mayor of Naga City. He was remembered by many as a public servant. A person that stands and walks by his people, a leader for the people.

Good governance, public service, and urban development is what people associate when they hear his name. He was also known for the "Tsinelas Leadership". They say it is the willingness to go to places with the most disadvantaged people. With the tsinelas being a common footwear in the country, it also reflects the ordinary Filipino. This type of leadership shows that leaders should serve and help those in dire need. It shows that his approach to service is through "Tsinelas" Leadership or leadership for the ordinary Filipino.

This August 18, 2026 marks his 14th death anniversary. We honor his legacy and contributions that helped made change for Naga and the entire country. You may not be with us today, but your service to your people still lives on and you tsinelas still left a visible trail to the community.

The BISCAST Supreme Student Council family extends its warmest birthday greetings to our BSED Representative and Deputy Speaker of the 16th Legislative Branch, Hon. Lealyn G. Alamer.

As a cornerstone of the council, Hon. Lealyn effortlessly balances leadership with a level of high energy previously thought to be humanly impossible. Whether she is captivating the entire campus on stage with her electrifying hosting energy or single-handedly raising the office's morale with her humor, her vibrant presence ensures that council business is never, ever boring.

Thank you, Hon. Lealyn, for bringing both unmatched passion and endless laughter to every project you touch. May your special day be filled with as much joy, hype, and celebrated noise as you bring to the council every single day! Happy Birthday!
