Three students from UNC secured spots as regional finalists in the 59th Search for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) Bicol, following the release of the official list of qualifiers by the TOSP Bicol Regional Formation Council on July 25.

Named regional finalists were Jay Vhie M. Abunda, Mharvic I. Castroverde, and James Nathaniel Refugio, who were selected after undergoing the regional screening of nominees based on their academic performance, leadership, and contributions to their respective communities.

As regional finalists, the three will participate in the Regional Formation on August 21-24, 2026, where they will undergo a series of leadership formation activities and further evaluation before the selection of the region's representatives to the national search.

Now on its 59th year, the TOSP recognizes student leaders who have demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, and social involvement, emphasizing service and nation-building among Filipino youth.
