STUDENT WELLNESS BREAK

September 28, 2026 (Monday)

Palawan State University has declared September 28, 2026 as a Student Wellness Break across all PSU campuses, except the Integrated Laboratory Schools and PSU-Quezon Campus.

📌 No classes or academic activities will be held on this day.
📌 Faculty members will be on Work-From-Home arrangement for non-teaching duties.
📌 Non-teaching personnel will report from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN.

The Wellness Break aims to give students time to rest and recharge after the Midterm Examination Week.

Please be guided accordingly.

On September 10, 2026, the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science department gathered for its much-awaited Diplomacy Summit Simulation and Debate. Guided by the request and mentorship of Professor Dr. Nathaniel I. Lepasana, this academic activity brought together students from all year levels, transforming our learning space into a venue of discourse, diplomacy, and critical thinking.

Each year level took center stage with purpose and pride. Our third-year students demonstrated their grasp of global statecraft through the Diplomacy Summit Simulation, navigating international negotiations with poise and strategic thought. Meanwhile, the second-year class showcased order, logic, and procedure in their Parliamentary Procedure exercises, reflecting the discipline required in formal governance. To complete the program, students from the first through fourth years engaged in a spirited Debate, where differing perspectives met with respect, reason, and the courage to speak one’s truth.

More than just an academic requirement, this event stood as a testament to what we strive to become: future leaders who can listen, negotiate, and stand firm on what is just. It was a day when theory met practice, when voices were heard, and when the halls of PSU–Narra echoed not just with words, but with the promise of the leaders we are growing to be.

The BAPS General Assembly brought PolSci students together to discuss important matters and prepare for what lies ahead. From the upcoming PolSci Summit and Acquaintance Party to other student concerns and departmental matters, every discussion aimed to keep everyone informed, involved, and ready.

More than just a meeting, it was a step toward stronger coordination, participation, and unity within the department.

PAGLILIMI: SA BAKAS NG KABAYANIHAN, SA TAWAG NG PANANAGUTAN 🇵🇭

"May mga alaala na hindi lamang dapat balikan, kundi dapat pagnilayan sapagkat sa bawat gunita ng nakaraan ay may pananagutang ipinauubaya sa kasalukuyan."

Ngayong Araw ng mga Bayani, hindi lamang tayo humaharap sa nakaraan upang alalahanin ang mga pangalang nakaukit sa ating kasaysayan. Tayo ay humaharap dito upang MAGLILIMI, upang sandaling tumigil, magnilay, at tanungin ang ating mga sarili kung ano ang kahulugan ng kanilang buhay at sakripisyo para sa atin na patuloy na nabubuhay sa kalayaang kanilang ipinaglaban.

Sapagkat madaling alalahanin ang isang bayani.

Madaling banggitin ang kanilang pangalan.

Madaling magbigay-pugay sa kanilang mga larawan.

Ngunit mas mahirap unawain ang bigat ng kanilang isinakripisyo.

Ano kaya ang pakiramdam ng piliing lumaban kahit alam mong maaaring hindi mo na makikita ang bukang-liwayway?

Ano kaya ang nasa puso ng isang taong handang iwan ang sariling kapanatagan upang ipaglaban ang kalayaan ng mga taong maaaring hindi man lamang niya makilala?

At ano ang nasa isip ng mga taong piniling manindigan sa katotohanan kahit kapalit nito ay kanilang buhay, pangarap, pamilya, at kinabukasan?

Dahil ang kabayanihan ay hindi lamang kuwento ng nakaraan. Ito ay salamin na inilalapit sa ating mga sarili upang makita natin kung ano ang ating ginagawa sa kalayaang ipinagkaloob sa atin.

Kaya bilang mga mag-aaral ng Political Science, ang paggunita sa mga bayani ay hindi dapat nagtatapos sa isang seremonya, isang larawan, o isang araw sa kalendaryo.

Sapagkat araw-araw nating pinag-aaralan ang mga konseptong minsang ipinaglaban ng mga taong nauna sa atin. kapangyarihan, pamahalaan, batas, kalayaan, katarungan, karapatang pantao, demokrasya, at pananagutan.

Ngunit sa likod ng bawat konseptong binabasa natin sa mga aklat ay may mga buhay na naapektuhan.

Sa likod ng bawat batas ay may mga mamamayang pinoprotektahan o maaaring maisantabi.

Sa likod ng bawat desisyon ng pamahalaan ay may pamilyang maaaring mabago ang buhay.

At sa likod ng bawat paggamit ng kapangyarihan ay may pananagutang hindi maaaring takasan.

Kaya ang Political Science ay hindi lamang pag-aaral tungkol sa politika.

Ito ay pag-aaral tungkol sa tao.

Tungkol sa kanyang dignidad.

Tungkol sa kanyang kalayaan.

Tungkol sa kanyang karapatan.

Tungkol sa kanyang kinabukasan.

At higit sa lahat, tungkol sa kung paano natin gagamitin ang kapangyarihan upang ang lipunan ay maging higit na makatarungan para sa lahat.

Ngayong Agosto 31, Araw ng mga Bayani, buong puso nating ginugunita at binibigyang-pugay ang mga Pilipinong nagpakita ng pambihirang tapang, pagmamahal, at sakripisyo para sa ating bayan. Sila ang mga taong piniling lumaban kahit may takot, magsakripisyo kahit masakit, at maglingkod kahit walang katiyakang makikilala o mapapasalamatan sila.

Sa araw na ito, huwag lamang nating alalahanin ang mga bayaning nagmula sa nakaraan. Tingnan din natin ang mga bayaning kasama natin sa kasalukuyan. At higit sa lahat, tanungin natin ang ating sarili: "ANO ANG MAARI KONG GAWIN PARA SA AKING KAPWA AT SA AKING BAYAN?

Kung kaya ng AI gumawa ng sagot sa isang pindot, sino ang magtatanong kung tama ba talaga ang sagot?

Tema: Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon.

Sa panahon ngayon, hindi na mahirap makahanap ng impormasyon. Ilang pindot lang at may sagot ka na. Isang tanong lang at may paliwanag.

Pero kung tutuusin, hindi naman talaga bago ang paghahanap ng impormasyon. Ang nagbago ay kung gaano ito kabilis dumating sa atin.

Dito nagtatagpo ang artificial intelligence at wikang Filipino.

Ang AI ay teknolohiyang kayang tumulong sa pagproseso ng napakaraming impormasyon.

Pero paano natin ito nakakausap?

Sa pamamagitan ng wika.

Ang prompt na ibinibigay natin ay wika. Ang tanong na hinahanap natin ng sagot ay wika. Ang sagot na ating binabasa at binibigyang-kahulugan ay wika rin.

AI ang tumutulong sa paglapit natin sa napakalawak na mundo ng impormasyon, habang ang wika ang tumutulong sa atin na maunawaan kung ano ang ibig sabihin nito. Lalo itong mahalaga sa Filipino dahil hindi dapat manatili ang kaalaman sa wikang madaling maintindihan lamang ng iilan.

Bilang mga mag-aaral ng BA Political Science, hindi sapat na mabilis tayong makahanap ng impormasyon. Kailangan nating matutong kumilatis.

Kaya ngayong Buwan ng Wika, gamitin natin ang AI nang may layunin at gamitin ang Filipino nang may kamalayan.

Hayaan nating maging kasangkapan ang AI sa paghahanap ng kaalaman, habang nananatiling tayo ang nagpapasya kung ano ang dapat paniwalaan.
