The School of Technology and Computer Studies (STCS) at Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) proved its versatility as its students dominated both the digital and literary categories of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Biliran Provincial Competitions held on March 13, 2026.

Taking the spotlight for the competition—accompanied by coaches Mr. Tito Amerigo V. Custodio and Mr. Rexie Lipon—was Newmeric Beato, who emerged as the Champion in both the Municipal and Provincial levels of the Digital Poster Making Contest. Representing STCS with technical precision and creativity, Beato's artwork centered on the theme: "Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa." His winning entry was lauded by BFP officials for its vivid storytelling and artistic depth.

Adding to the university's tally of successes, Sherry Mae Cajeras, together with her coach Ms. Joy Mendoza, earned the 2nd Runner-Up spot in the Provincial Essay Writing Contest. This follows her impressive stint as the Municipal Level Champion. In her piece titled "When the Flames Come, Will the Community Stand?", Cajeras’ work was noted for its compelling call to action, urging citizens to move beyond awareness toward proactive safety measures to ensure a prosperous future for the country.

This double victory highlights the versatile talent within the School of Technology and Computer Studies, proving that its students excel not only in technical disciplines but also in creative arts and communication.

BFP Biliran officials expressed their appreciation for the students' participation, noting that such initiatives are vital in engaging the youth to become ambassadors for fire safety within their respective communities.
