1️⃣ Shipboard Familiarization – Learn ship layout, safety equipment, and emergency procedures.

2️⃣ Watchkeeping & Navigation – Assist in bridge watch, study COLREGs, chart work, and ECDIS.

3️⃣ Cargo Operations – Understand cargo handling, ballast operations, and ship stability.

Today, we celebrate six years of weaving of worthiness for BiPSU!

On this day in 2019, Naval State University (NSU) was officially renamed Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), marking a new milestone in our institution's history page.

This transformation was made possible through Republic Act 11170, authored by former Biliran Congressman Dr. Rogelio J. Espina, co-sponsored by Senator Francis "Chiz" G. Escudero, and signed into law by President Rodrigo Duterte on January 2, 2019. The law officially took effect on February 13, 2019.

| We are proud to celebrate the milestone achieved by our two faculty, Dr. Norberto Camarines, School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME) faculty member, and Dr. Jose Niño Ramos, School of Teacher Education (STEd) faculty member, for successfully publishing their research paper titled “Applications of Plane and Spherical Triangle Solutions in Terrestrial Navigation Problems”, in an international scopus-indexed journal.

The study aims to determine the applications of plane and spherical triangle solutions in terrestrial navigation problems, serving as a guide for maritime personnel to navigate ships safely.

Their work was published in the Journal of Maritime Research, a renowned open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to contribute to the progress, development and diffusion of research on the maritime sector.
