𝗔 𝗦𝗬𝗠𝗕𝗢𝗟 𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗘, 𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗥, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗢𝗠 🇵🇭

On May 28, 1898, the Philippine flag was proudly unfurled for the very first time after the triumph of the Philippine Revolutionary Army against Spanish forces in the Battle of Alapan in Imus, Cavite. It became more than just a banner of victory. It became the heartbeat of a nation longing to be free.

Today, as we commemorate National Flag Day, we remember the deep meaning carried by every color and symbol of our flag: the blue for peace, truth, and justice; the red for courage and patriotism; the white triangle for equality and fraternity; the golden sun for liberty; and the three stars representing Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao united as one Filipino people.

Our flag was not merely raised by hands. It was lifted by sacrifice, bravery, and the unwavering dream of independence.

One day, they were just students trying to survive deadlines, reports, recitations, and sleepless nights.Now, they are leaving with stories, lessons, friendships, and dreams bigger than the fears they once carried.

Last May 21, 2026 at BiPSU Academic and Wellness Center 2nd Floor,the Estudios Sociales Sociedad gathered not only to celebrate achievements, but to honor stories of perseverance, leadership, friendship, and dreams turned into reality.

The event also featured an inspiring message from our guest speaker, Ms. Marianel S. Sabornido, Licensed Professional Teacher, Magna Cum Laude graduate, former ESS President, former SSC President of the School of Teacher Education, and an award-winning student leader whose journey continues to inspire future educators.

“FELICITACIONES 2026” became a heartfelt tribute to the graduating PaESSanos and PaESSanas who dedicated their time, passion, and service to the organization. From countless academic struggles, organizational responsibilities, sleepless nights, and moments of doubt — they stood resilient and committed until the very end.

As these future educators prepare for the Licensure Examination for Teachers and a new chapter beyond the university, ESS proudly sends them with gratitude, admiration, and hope. Their legacy will forever remain a part of the organization they helped strengthen and inspire.

The Estudios Sociales Sociedad proudly and wholeheartedly congratulates our exceptional PaESSano and PaESSana, Joshua P. Abanes and Robilyn Buscay of Batch DASIG 2025, for successfully conquering the March 2026 BLEPT and carrying the banner of BSEd Social Studies with a remarkable 100% passing rate.

Before this day comes to a close, the Estudios Sociales Sociedad pauses to extend its warmest greetings and deepest appreciation to a person whose guidance has long been part of our academic journey.

To our respected veteran adviser, Mr. Mark Christian R. Almazan, today is more than just a celebration of another year. It is a recognition of your steady presence, your commitment to mentorship, and the quiet strength you have shared with students who continue to learn under your guidance.

Your support has been more than instructional. It has been formative. You have shaped not only academic understanding but also character, discipline, and perspective among the members of this organization. In every discussion you have guided and every advice you have given, you have helped build a foundation that continues to influence us as future educators and leaders.

𝙃𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝘿𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝘿𝙞𝙚 — 𝙄𝙩 𝙒𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝘽𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙.

Before this day ends, the Estudio Sociales Sociedad wishes to honor the life, sacrifice, and unyielding patriotism of Andres Bonifacio on his 129th Death Anniversary.

He was not born with privilege, power, or position. He was a man shaped by poverty, injustice, and the painful realities of his time — yet he chose to fight for a nation that was not yet free. Bonifacio ignited a revolution not with wealth, but with courage; not with authority, but with love for the Filipino people.

Yet history reminds us of a painful truth: many heroes do not fall in the hands of foreign enemies alone — sometimes, they are betrayed by their own people.

𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖?
After the controversial Tejeros Convention in 1897, Andres Bonifacio — the founder of the Katipunan and the leader who sparked the Philippine Revolution against Spain — was arrested by fellow revolutionaries, accused of treason and sedition, and later executed in the mountains of Maragondon, Cavite on May 10, 1897. Until today, many historians continue to debate the injustice surrounding his trial and death, making it one of the most painful betrayals in Philippine history.

Today, his story remains painfully relevant.

In a country still battling corruption, injustice, historical distortion, division, and silence in the face of oppression, Bonifacio’s voice continues to echo across generations. His death was not merely the end of a revolutionary life; it became a warning to every Filipino that freedom can be stolen not only by colonizers, but also by greed, ambition, and forgetfulness.

Maraming gustong wakasan ang kasaysayan, ngunit huwag natin itong kalimutan.

The blood of heroes was never meant to become just another paragraph in textbooks. Their sacrifices were meant to awaken every generation to defend truth, justice, democracy, and the dignity of the Filipino people.

As students, future educators, and youth leaders, may we never reduce patriotism into mere commemoration. May we live it — by speaking the truth, standing for what is right, fighting misinformation, and serving the nation beyond personal interest.

Bonifacio did not die so Filipinos would remain silent. He died believing that one day, the youth of this nation would continue the struggle he began.

And perhaps the greatest betrayal today is not remembering him only once a year — but forgetting the very ideals he died for.

Before this day ends, the Estudios Sociales Sociedad takes honor in joining the nation in commemorating Labor Day—a tribute to the resilience, sacrifices, and invaluable contributions of Filipino workers who continue to build and sustain our society. From classrooms to communities, we recognize that every step toward progress is driven by the labor of individuals whose efforts deserve not only recognition, but protection and justice. This observance traces its roots back to 1903, when Filipino workers first marched to demand fair wages and humane working conditions—an enduring legacy that still calls for action today.

Did you know? Despite existing labor laws, many Filipino workers continue to face low wages, contractualization, and limited access to benefits. These challenges are further intensified by corruption, which diverts resources meant for public services and labor protection. When accountability is weakened, it is the ordinary worker who bears the greatest burden—making the fight for workers’ rights inseparable from the call for transparency and good governance.

As future educators and advocates, we believe that honoring labor goes beyond celebration—it means standing for integrity, strengthening institutions, and promoting a just and inclusive society. Labor Day reminds us that nation-building is a shared responsibility, and that every Filipino worker deserves a system that truly serves and uplifts them. Sa bawat manggagawang Pilipino, saludo kami sa inyong sipag at dedikasyon.
