𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞! | The Department of Communication (DepComm) and the Communication Arts Guild (CAG) present a two-day Employability Skills and Training for fourth-year Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BAComm) students, to be held at the Hyflex Audio-Visual Center (HAVC) on May 4 and at the Andaya Building Smart Room on May 5.

The event aims to equip fourth-year BA Communication students of BiPSU with essential employability, communication, resume-building, and interview skills while exposing them to real-world industry expectations, and career preparation.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞! | As the Pinoy Media Congress (PMC) commenced, students, journalists, and faculty members from the Department of Communication (DepComm), together with The Pillar Publication, took part in the first day of the event held at Assumption College San Lorenzo in Makati City on April 29.

Representing DepComm were Mr. Joseph Kurt del Rosario and Mr. Ogie Paje of CAG, along with DepComm instructor Ms. Precious Mae Alcero, together with Ms. Melody Vijuan and Ms. Leah Mae Garing of The Pillar, and joined by Mr. Vincent Justine Realino, The Pillar’s adviser.

Moreover, the two-day congress is organized in partnership between ABS-CBN and the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE) and will run until April 30.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞! | Faculty members of the Department of Communication (DepComm), together with student leaders from the Communication Arts Guild (CAG), took part in the third day of the Global Industry Leadership Lecture Series 2026, themed “From Classroom to Corporate: Skills for Leadership in the Real World Seminar-Workshop,” held at the Hyflex Audio-Visual Center (HAVC) on April 23.

Led by Ms. Chiejheaca Jehanna Yu, Director of the International Affairs Office, the seminar featured an international resource speaker from India, Mr. Aashish Bhatia, a global industry leader, engineer, CEO, and President of the Automotive Division at Schaeffler India, who shared insights from his nearly 30 years of experience, offering a real-world perspective on leadership in the corporate industry.

Moreover, Mr. Bhatia emphasized in his lecture that their technical skills would open doors, but their judgement would keep them in the room, reminding them that long-term success depends not only on what they know, but on how wisely they apply it in real-world situations.

𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠! | Morris Kneller Lan, a first-year Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BAComm) student and member of the BiPSU Tigers Men’s Volleyball team, grabbed the silver medal in the championship match against the UEP Water Buffalos during the 39th EVR-SCUAA 2026 held at Leyte Progressive High School on April 24.

COMMgratulations, COMMrade! You worked really hard, stayed committed, and gave your best. The Department of Communication (DepComm) is truly proud of your achievement.
