𝗕𝗶𝗣𝗦𝗨 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀' 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗦𝗢 𝟵𝟬𝟬𝟭:𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟱 𝗥𝗲-𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

In its ongoing pursuit of excellence in quality management, Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), through the Office of the University Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA), successfully conducted a comprehensive reorientation for its designated Internal Quality Auditors (IQAs) on June 9, 2026. The day-long seminar was held at the Hyflex Audio Visual Center (HAVC) located in the Andaya Building at the university's Main Campus.

The targeted training initiative aimed to refamiliarize university auditors with the core provisions of the ISO 9001:2015 standards and enhance their overall capacity to execute precise, standardized audits. The reorientation was strategically designed to address specific areas for improvement previously identified by external auditors, particularly the need for greater accuracy in linking internal audit findings to their most appropriate ISO clauses. As BiPSU continues to expand its institutional operations and increase the number of offices subject to review, reinforcing these technical skills ensures that internal audit results remain heavily evidence-based, reliable, and compliant with international benchmarks.

To facilitate the training, the university invited Engr. Elvira E. Ongy, an Associate Professor V from Visayas State University and an accredited consultant for the Department of Science and Technology's Quality Management System (DOST-QMS) Consulting Services. As a TÜV SÜD-certified IRCA Registered Lead Auditor, Engr. Ongy brought extensive industrial engineering and institutional quality management expertise to the forum.

The schedule of activities divided the day into robust theoretical and practical components. The morning sessions focused on the structural breakdown and interpretation of the various ISO 9001:2015 clauses. In the afternoon, the workshop shifted toward hands-on training, where auditors practiced writing clear, concise audit reports and masterfully navigating clause documentation. The event concluded with an open forum, allowing the participants to clarify complex auditing scenarios and align their methodologies.

Emphasizing the administration's support for the initiative, University President Prof. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., EdD, CHRP, highlighted the importance of the training. "This re-orientation is a vital step in our pursuit of sustaining excellence in quality management," he stated. "By strengthening our auditors' competencies in identifying non-conformities and properly linking them to the correct clauses, we ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability in the conduct of internal audits, thereby contributing to continuous quality improvement across the University."

SEOUL, South Korea — A 12-member delegation from Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) has safely arrived in Seoul, South Korea, to officially commence the International Cultural–Work Immersion Program and Networking initiative.

Running from June 7 to June 22, the 2026 immersion program features hands-on engagement and professional networking at Green Kindergarten and Eden Adventist Hospital. The initiative is strategically designed to provide BiPSU students, alumni, and faculty with meaningful international exposure and valuable connections within global industries in the Republic of Korea.

Spearheading the university's contingent are Dr. Maribel N. Zipagan, Vice President for Students, Internationalization, and Strategic Partnerships, and Dr. Jovy Dia R. Saniel, Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS). Their leadership during this trip underscores the university's commitment to fostering cross-cultural competencies and global partnerships.

The delegation represents a diverse cross-section of the BiPSU academic community. The student contingent is anchored by Student Regent Hon. Prince Carl Palconit, who is joined by six students hailing from the SNHS and the School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME).

Furthermore, the initiative includes the active participation of four university alumni, with two representing the SNHS and two from the School of Teacher Education (STEd).

By bridging classroom learning with international industry practices, this two-week immersion marks another significant milestone in the institution's ongoing global outreach, truly weaving BiPSU with the world and the world with BiPSU.

For Jake Lacson Carreon, a Bachelor of Arts major in Communication student, BiPSU's One-Hardbound Thesis and Dissertation Policy demonstrates how environmental awareness can be translated into meaningful action within the academic setting.

Carreon shared that the university's shift toward a more paperless research process encourages students to practice sustainability in practical and everyday ways. Through the initiative, he sees the development of responsible habits not only in handling academic requirements but also in daily life beyond the classroom.
He also described the transition as an "E-ntelligent" step toward building a greener and more responsible student community. For him, the policy reflects BiPSU's continued commitment to weaving a future where academic growth and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.

The Legal Education Board (LEB), during its 279th En Banc Meeting, approved the application of Biliran Province State University for a Level I Government Permit for Academic Year 2026–2027.

Information on qualifications, admission requirements, enrollment procedures for first-year students, and other relevant details will be posted soon through BiPSU official communication channels.

The Juris Doctor (Non-Thesis) program will be offered under the newly established School of Law and Governance (SoLGov) at BiPSU Main Campus in Naval, Biliran, and will initially offer a single track focused on government service.

For a student from the School of Criminology, BiPSU's Green Knowledge Stewardship through the One-Hardbound Thesis and Dissertation Policy is more than an environmental initiative; it is a meaningful support system that eases the financial burden carried by many students and their families.

“As a criminology student, the Green Knowledge Stewardship One-Hardbound Thesis and Dissertation Policy helps me a lot, especially in terms of financial matters, making my upcoming thesis period more manageable as a student whose single parent is the sole provider for my studies," Alex Igam shared. "Being given an opportunity through this policy is like having a ladder toward success, not only for students but also for fostering a healthy environment.”

His testimony reflects how the university's sustainability initiatives extend beyond environmental responsibility, creating student-centred policies that address the realities faced by every BiPSUnista. Through programs that promote both accessibility and environmental stewardship, BiPSU continues to cultivate a campus culture that is greener, more inclusive, and responsive to the needs of its academic community.

JAKARTA, INDONESIA — Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) Tigers Karate athletes Joshua Solar Roda and Jhonzen Ompad Glore brought home international glory, securing a total of six medals at the Adidas Open International Karate Championship 2026 held at the Ciracas Sport Center in Jakarta, Indonesia, from June 5 to 7.

Representing both the university and the Philippines, the duo showcased exceptional martial arts prowess across various divisions. Roda captured a gold medal in the Senior Kumite -55kg Male category, clinched a silver in the Under-21 Kumite -55kg Male, and earned a bronze in the Senior Team Kata Male. Meanwhile, Glore dominated the Senior Kumite -75kg Male division to win gold, while also securing two bronze medals in the Under-21 Kumite -84kg Male and the Senior Team Kata Male events.

University President Prof. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., EdD, CHRP, commended the student-athletes for their stellar performance and historic finish on the international stage. Prof. Cañezo emphasized that their victory serves as a profound inspiration for fellow BiPSUnistas to train harder and pursue excellence wherever they go. He also reiterated the administration's unwavering commitment to supporting BiPSU athletes as they continue to weave worthiness and bring honor to the university, the province, and the country.
