| SCJE CONDUCTS RETENTION EXAMINATION FOR INCOMING THIRD-YEAR BS CRIMINOLOGY STUDENTS |

BiPSU-SCJE successfully conducted the Retention Examination for the incoming Third-Year BS Criminology students on July 7, 2026, at the BiPSU Sports Center.

The activity forms part of the Admission and Retention Policy of BiPSU, which aims to ensure that students possess the necessary knowledge, competencies, and readiness to advance to the higher professional courses of the BS Criminology program.

In preparation for the examination, the incoming third-year students first underwent an Enhancement Review Program, where they revisited the professional courses they had taken during their first and second years. The review sessions were facilitated by invited external lecturers from partner universities and reputable criminology review centers, providing students with valuable insights, updated knowledge, and comprehensive preparation for the retention examination.

The exam served as an assessment of the students' mastery of fundamental criminology concepts and their preparedness to undertake the more specialized and advanced courses in the succeeding years of the program.

The School commends all examinees for their discipline, commitment, and perseverance throughout the review and examination process. Your dedication reflects your determination to uphold the standards of the profession and your aspiration to become competent, ethical, and service-oriented criminologists. | SCJE SUCCESSFULLY HOLDS RESEARCH IN-HOUSE REVIEW 2026 |

BiPSU-SCJE successfully conducted its Research In-House Review, reaffirming its commitment to fostering a strong research culture and promoting scholarly excellence among its faculty members.

The activity featured the presentation of eight completed research studies, showcasing the faculty's dedication to generating quality research that contributes to the advancement of criminology, criminal justice education, and community development.

Providing valuable insights and constructive recommendations were the invited panelists: Dr. Angelyn L. Noble of Visayas State University–Tolosa (VSU-Tolosa) and Dr. Richard N. Verdeflor of Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU). Their expertise and thoughtful feedback will help further enhance the quality, rigor, and publication readiness of the presented research outputs.

The School of Criminal Justice Education likewise extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Office of Research and Knowledge Management for its invaluable support in making this activity a success, under the leadership of the Director, Dr. Pearl Irish V. de Paz, and the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Societal Impact, Dr. Roland A. Niez, whose unwavering commitment to advancing the University's research agenda continues to inspire academic excellence.

SCJE also expresses its sincere gratitude to the faculty researchers, organizers, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of this academic endeavor.

All examinees are required to arrive at the venue on or before 7:30 AM for attendance checking and orientation on the examination guidelines. Please be punctual, as late arrivals may not be accommodated.

We strongly encourage incoming freshmen and irregular students to complete their enrollment before the deadline. Regular students are automatically enrolled and are advised to verify their enrollment status through SIAS.
