🇵🇭 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗦𝗨–𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

Aklan State University–New Washington Campus, through the University Student Council (USC), conducted its First Flag Raising Ceremony for A.Y. 2026-2027, bringing together students, faculty members, and university personnel in a solemn observance of patriotism and national pride. The program opened with a prayer led by Jhon Kiervie Resurrection, USC Vice President, followed by the Philippine National Anthem, Panatang Makabayan, and Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas, led by selected students from the BCAEd and BSF programs.

The ceremony continued with the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and Bagong Pilipinas Pledge, followed by the Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan, ASEAN Hymn, Aklan Hymn, New Washington Hymn, and ASU Hymn.
The Quality Policy was presented by Michael Rome, BSF student while Dr. Elson C. Gonzales, Head of Academic Services and Program Chairperson of BSED Filipino, delivered the corresponding presentation. The program also featured messages and announcements from Mrs. Leah D. Dela Cruz, Head of Administrative Services; Ms. Jesha P. Traje, OSAS Chair; and Rose Marie C. Cimeni, USC President. Sponsored by the University Student Council, the activity served as a meaningful avenue to strengthen patriotism, discipline, unity, and active participation among the ASU–New Washington Campus community.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗔𝗦𝗨 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝟭𝟬𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

Aklan State University successfully hosted the 100th Regular Meeting of the Board of Regents (BOR), convening the members of the University's highest governing body to discuss key policies, programs, and initiatives that will further advance the institution.

The University warmly welcomed Commission on Higher Education Commissioner Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, who attended onsite together with the members of the Board of Regents, including Hon. Jess Marquez, representing Hon. Jude A. Acidre; Regent Rowen R. Gelonga, DOST VI Regional Director; Alumni Regent Winnie Beth Miralles; Faculty Regent Dr. Cherry Mae Teodosio; and Student Regent Cristal Key T. Tayco. Joining virtually were DepDev Regional Director Arecio A. Casing Jr. and DA VI Regional Executive Director Dennis Arpia.

Among the highlights of the meeting were the oath-taking ceremony of Student Regent Cristal Key T. Tayco, signifying the formal assumption of her role in representing the student sector on the Board, and the presentation of a Plaque of Recognition to Mardina P. Taglay for her outstanding achievement as Top 7 in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).

As host of this milestone meeting, Aklan State University remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence, accountability, and collaborative governance in serving the academic community.
