CAMPING TAYO, ANO TARA?
On March 13–14, 2026, the HUMSS Club held its culminating activity through a camp, titled Project GIRA, which stands for Grounded in Social Consciousness through Interdisciplinary Reflection and Advocacy, with the theme “Imprinting Humanistic Leadership through Critical Inquiry & Social Engagement.”
The event aimed to leave a GIRA—a mark on every participating student, a mark filled with meaningful memories, valuable insights, and new knowledge. More than just a camp, it also served as a tribute to the graduating HUMSS students, recognizing their journey, growth, and contributions to the strand. It was a moment to celebrate their experiences and the impact they have made within the HUMSS community.
During the first day in the evening, three resource speakers delivered inspiring talks about communication, advocacy, and leadership. Their discussions encouraged students to become more aware, responsible, and active members of society. Selected HUMSS students also shared their personal insights and experiences, creating a heartfelt and reflective atmosphere where participants were able to connect with one another through stories and lessons learned. The night ended with a fun socialization activity, where everyone had the chance to relax, interact, and strengthen their bonds with fellow HUMSS students.
On the second day, the activity continued with an exciting team-building event consisting of seven different stations. These activities challenged the participants’ teamwork, cooperation, creativity, and problem-solving skills, making the experience both enjoyable and meaningful. After completing the stations, an awarding ceremony was held to recognize the efforts, participation, and achievements of the students throughout the camp.
Indeed, Project GIRA was more than just a two-day camp. It was an experience filled with learning, reflection, laughter, and camaraderie. And as the event came to an end, every participant went home carrying something meaningful—because now, everyone has a GIRA left in their hearts.
