It has come to the attention of the RSU administration that a Facebook post is circulating, claiming that all graduating students from all learning levels will soon receive cash assistance from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). The post further urges students to register for a payout scheduled for April 15, 2025.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗦𝗘 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has not announced any cash assistance program as described in the aforementioned Facebook post. Any links associated with this post could potentially lead to phishing attempts or other malicious activities that may compromise personal information and online security.

The administration urges all students, faculty, staff, and the public to be extremely cautious and vigilant when encountering such posts on social media. They are advised to refrain from sharing this fake information and, if they have already shared it, they are advised to retract their post immediately.

RSU understands the financial challenges many students face, and is committed to providing accurate and reliable information regarding legitimate financial aid and scholarship opportunities. This shall be disseminated as official updates through the university's official channels.

The administration appreciates the cooperation of the community in helping to prevent the spread of misinformation and protect the community.

"I am the eighth among nine siblings. My father is a farmer, and my mother is a housewife. Being given the opportunity to attend college is an honor for my parents, as my other siblings only finished high school due to the lack of financial support for their education. One of the challenges I faced as a college student was the financial strain on my studies, especially during the peak of the pandemic, when my sibling who was helping me could not work due to the lockdown. This situation made me think about giving up on my studies at times, as I felt like I was adding to my parents' burdens.

In my second year of college, while I was busy studying, I received a notification on my cellphone. It was a message from one of the TES coordinators at my school, informing me that I had been chosen to receive a CHED grant. During those moments, I was overwhelmed with a mix of happiness and tears.

Being a CHED-UniFAST grantee is something I am truly grateful for, as it eased the financial burden I was feeling. Now, TES UniFAST, I am so happy to tell you that I have completed my college education, and you are one of the reasons for this achievement. Thank you, and I hope you continue to help many more students like me who are struggling financially. Thank you so much, and God bless TES UniFAST!"

𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀: 𝗥𝗦𝗨 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺 “𝗦𝗸𝗲𝘆𝘁𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱”

September 16, 2024– Romblon State University (RSU), through the Office of Media and Public Affairs (OMPA) and the Office of Admissions and Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), proudly hosted a special screening of "Skeytbord," the official winning entry at the MIMAROPALIKULA film competition during the TES Congress 2024.

In her opening remarks, RSU President Merian C. Mani expressed immense pride in the university's achievement.

“This remarkable accomplishment would not have been possible without the dedication and creativity of our teams, OMPA, TES, Marble, and The Harrow," she said, extending heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in bringing "Skeytbord" to life.

The film's narrative centers around April Minano, an BS Elementary Education graduate of RSU, Batch 2024.

President Mani highlighted the broader message of the film, emphasizing that many Filipinos rise above their circumstances through grit, passion, and determination.

The proceeds from the ticket sales would be given to Mr. Minano as financial assistance, supporting him in his review sessions in preparation for his licensure examination for professional teachers.

Discussions ensued after the film, with overwhelming reception and appreciation from the top officials, alumni, and guests who were present at the event.

The event concluded with a heartfelt message from Mr. Minano, encouraging everyone to become resilient in the face of trials and strive to reach their aspirations in life, just as he did.

The second day of the screening is intended for block viewing sessions for different colleges at the Main Campus.

The university wishes to express its immense gratitude to the alumni who supported the pilot screening of “Skeytbord” and sponsored tickets for the students.
