Celebrating a year of academic triumph and perseverance, the Romblon State University (RSU) College of Education (CED) staged its annual CED Recognition Night yesterday, May 28, 2026, at the RSU Quadrangle.
Anchored on the theme โRising Through Challenges: Recognizing Excellence in Education, Leadership and Service,โ the event honored outstanding student achievers and faculty members who demonstrated exceptional commitment to educational excellence.
The program officially commenced with a Processional March and preliminaries, followed by opening remarks from Dr. Emelyn R. Villanueva, Dean of the College of Education. Dr. Emelyn F. Montoya, Vice President for Academic Affairs, also delivered a special message, where she highlighted the department's continuous pursuit of academic distinction amid changing educational landscapes. RSU University President Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani further inspired the attendees with an uplifting inspirational message during the latter half of the program.
A primary highlight of the evening was the keynote speech delivered by CED Alumna and 2013 LET Top 6 placer, Ms. Alyza Mae A. Ferry, who was formally introduced by BEED Chairperson Dr. Jun P. Dalisay. In her address, Ferry reminded the future educators of the profound impact of passion and resilience in the teaching profession, as well as her journey towards her career.
The night saw the distribution of numerous awards split into two major segments, giving well-deserved spotlights to:
Service, Leadership, and Journalism Awardees
Recipients of the prestigious Gawad Pluma 2026
Pre-Service Teachers (PSTs) deployed in Batangas and Quezon City
Research, Loyalty, and Academic Excellence Awardees
Best Demonstration Teachers and Best Faculty member
Expressing deep appreciation on behalf of the student body, Aira M. Sarzona delivered a moving Message of Gratitude, which was warmly followed by a Tribute Song performed by the graduating students.
The memorable evening concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Charmaine Shane S. Cuรฑada, Associate Dean of the College of Education, and the singing of the RSU Hymn. The entire proceedings were smoothly moderated by Janelle T. Factor, who served as the Master of Ceremony.
