📌O F F I C I A L A N N O U N C M E N T 📢📢

Today, we bid farewell to a chapter that has touched countless lives.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the official closure of Western Mindanao State University – Olutanga Campus after being unable to meet the minimum number of enrollees required by the WMSU Main Campus for this academic year. This decision comes despite the unwavering efforts of our administrators, faculty, staff, and community partners who worked tirelessly to keep the campus open and continue its mission of providing accessible quality education.

To our dear students, parents, alumni, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, stakeholders, local government units, and everyone who became part of the WMSU-Olutanga family—thank you. Your trust, dedication, and unwavering support have shaped a campus that became more than just a place of learning. It became a home where dreams were nurtured, opportunities were created, leaders were developed, and lives were transformed.

For many years, WMSU-Olutanga served as a beacon of hope for the people of Olutanga and neighboring communities. It brought quality education closer to those who aspired to build a better future, empowering generations of students to become professionals, public servants, educators, and responsible members of society. Its legacy will forever remain etched in the history and progress of the island.

We would also like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Atty. Marlo Bancoro for his steadfast commitment and relentless efforts in advocating for and defending the continued operation of WMSU-Olutanga. Your dedication, leadership, and genuine concern for the welfare of the community will always be remembered and deeply appreciated. Although many CET passers ultimately chose to pursue other academic programs in different campuses, your efforts reflected your unwavering belief in the value and future of WMSU-Olutanga.

While the campus may close its doors, the memories, achievements, friendships, and impact it has created will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone it has served.

This is not merely the end of a campus—it is the celebration of a remarkable legacy.

Thank you for being part of the WMSU-Olutanga story. Thank you for believing in its mission. Thank you for keeping its legacy alive.

✨ Gratitude, Commitment, and a Shared Vision for the Future ✨

Last June 09, 2026 was the commencement ceremony for WMSU-ESU's held in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay was not only a celebration of academic achievement but also a meaningful opportunity to connect with leaders who continue to champion quality education in our region.

We are truly grateful for the chance to have a brief but fruitful discussion with our 1st District Representative Atty. Marlo C. Bancoro, regarding the future plans and continued development of WMSU–Olutanga Campus. Conversations like these strengthen our hope for more opportunities, improved programs, and sustainable growth that will benefit our students and the entire community.

Likewise, we also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the President of Western Mindanao State University, Maria Carla A. Ochotorena for the unwavering support, guidance, and dedication to the realization and progress of WMSU–Olutanga. Your commitment to expanding access to quality education continues to inspire us to work harder and dream bigger.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward with optimism and determination, knowing that through collaboration, strong leadership, and a shared vision, greater things are yet to come for WMSU–Olutanga and the communities we serve.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for being part of this journey toward a brighter future. ❤
