๐บ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐ and indexed in ๐บ๐ช๐ถ๐ท๐ผ๐บ (Q3), this study contributes to the growing body of research on school health, Health Education, and effective teaching practice in secondary school contexts.
Using a qualitative phenomenological design, the study explored the lived experiences of six Physical Education teachers in teaching coordinated school health education in a high school setting. Through in-depth analysis, the study identified two major themes and eleven sub-themes, offering a clearer understanding of both the most effective teaching strategies and the persistent challenges encountered by educators.
Findings highlighted several best practices, including lesson integration through games, audio-visual learning, providing learning materials ahead of time, collaborative learning, and encouraging student queries. At the same time, the study identified key hindrances such as studentsโ diverse needs and interests, lack of parental support, insufficient funding, behavior management concerns, technical problems, and limited teacher training.
These findings underscore the complexity of implementing coordinated school health education and the importance of innovative, responsive, and well-supported teaching approaches in promoting student well-being and learning.
This publication reflects PhilHKRFNโs continuing commitment to Excellence, Prestige, and Fellowship, as our Fellows contribute meaningful, context-responsive, and globally relevant research in Human Kinetics, and school-based health education.
Congratulations, Hon. Dr. Sinag, on this outstanding scholarly contribution!
