Guiding, Exploring, and Showcasing Ormoc! ๐ŸŒŽโœจ

The STI College Ormoc Tourism Department students participated in a Mock Field Tour Guiding Activity . September 8-14 2026, as part of the Community Tour Guiding Training held at the Athletesโ€™ Dormitory Conference Room, Sports Complex, Ormoc City.

The activity provided the participants with an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they gained throughout the training by guiding their mentors and fellow participants to various tourist destinations in Ormoc City. They presented the history, facts, and interesting stories behind each destination while practicing proper tour guiding techniques and communication skills.

The mock tour also served as an assessment for tour guide accreditation under the Department of Tourism (DOT), helping prepare the participants for their future roles in promoting and showcasing local tourism, culture, and heritage.

The 7-Day Community Tour Guiding Training is organized by the Ormoc City Tourism Office, headed by Ms. Reah Pepito, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism (DOT), with Sir Rex Franze Estonilo as one of the facilitators.

This training is part of the preparation for the upcoming Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) National Convention 2026, which will be hosted by Ormoc City.

Through hands-on experiences like this, our future tourism professionals continue to build confidence, enhance their guiding skills, and prepare to welcome and assist visitors with excellence.
