🚨 3RD QUARTER SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL | SOUTHERN CAPITAL COLLEGES 🚨
On September 11, 2026, at 4:00PM, the Southern Capital Colleges (SCC) community participated in the 3rd Quarter Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, an activity that reminds us of the importance of being prepared and knowing how to respond during emergencies.
The activity began with an orientation led by the Dean of Student Affairs and Services, who discussed the essential Dos and Don’ts During an Earthquake. The orientation provided students and personnel with practical reminders on staying calm, protecting themselves, and following proper safety procedures during an earthquake.
Following the orientation, the earthquake simulation was carried out. Students, faculty, and staff participated in the Duck, Cover, and Hold procedure before proceeding to their designated evacuation and assembly areas.
The SCC College Red Cross Youth Council actively participated in the simulation, assisting in the response activities and putting into practice the knowledge and skills they have gained from their trainings and experiences. Their participation also served as an opportunity to learn, improve coordination, and understand their responsibilities during an emergency. ⛑️❤️
We sincerely thank everyone who participated and cooperated in the activity. We are grateful to the SCC administration, Dean of Student Affairs and Services, faculty and staff, students, and the SCC College Red Cross Youth Council for their time and cooperation in making the earthquake drill possible.
We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Philippine Red Cross for its continued assistance, guidance, and support in strengthening the preparedness and capabilities of the SCC College Red Cross Youth Council. Your support provides our student volunteers with valuable opportunities to learn, serve, and be better prepared to help others when needed. ❤️⛑️
The earthquake drill was not about performing perfectly, but about learning, practicing, and identifying how we can respond better together.
May this simple exercise remind us that preparedness is a shared responsibility. Every lesson learned, every procedure practiced, and every helping hand can contribute to a safer school community.
Thank you to everyone who took part. Together, let us continue to learn, prepare, and look after one another. 🤝
🚨 BE INFORMED. BE PREPARED. BE READY TO HELP. ⛑️
