Campus Forum Unites Students in Dialogue on Peace, Security, and Nation-Building
Tactical Operations Group 9 conducted a Campus Peace and Development Forum (CPDF) at Universidad de Zamboanga – Pagadian Campus, gathering 163 college students for an engaging discussion on national security and the vital role of the youth in nation-building on February 11, 2026.
The event served as a platform to raise awareness about pressing national concerns, including the deceptive recruitment strategies of Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) and the importance of protecting the West Philippine Sea (WPS). More than just a formal lecture, the event created an open space for dialogue allowing students to ask questions, share insights, and reflect on their responsibilities as young citizens.
Speakers emphasized the value of critical thinking, vigilance, and informed participation in safeguarding the country’s peace and sovereignty. Through real-life examples and interactive discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of how misinformation and manipulation can affect communities, especially the youth.
The forum highlighted a powerful message: today’s youth are not merely the leaders of tomorrow, they are active partners today in building a peaceful, united, and resilient Philippines. Through initiatives like the CPDF, organizers reaffirm their commitment to equipping young Filipinos with knowledge, patriotism, and a shared sense of duty toward the nation.
As the event concluded, one thing was clear: informed minds are stronger minds, and empowered youth remain one of the country’s greatest strengths.
