Cheers echoed across the Covered Court, Plaza Luz, Pagadian City on February 18, 2026, as the Top 3 finalists of the Mr. and Ms. SMC 2026 pageant claimed the spotlight at 6:00 p.m., turning the anniversary celebration into a night of confidence, elegance, and school pride. The event was one of the most anticipated highlights of the 86th Founding Anniversary of Southern Mindanao Colleges, drawing students, faculty, and supporters into one vibrant celebration.
Representing the best of their respective departments, the finalists embodied more than pageant-ready smiles. Female candidates hailed from the Social Work and AB, College of Teacher Education, and the College of Business Education, while the male contenders represented the College of Teacher Education, College of Criminology, and College of Business Education. Each finalist carried the banner of their department with poise, proving that excellence goes beyond academics.
As the final results were announced, the College of Teacher Education emerged as the nightโs standout. Maria Hervana Marie Suico of CTE was crowned Ms. SMC 2026, followed by Diana Rose Gasque of SWAB as 1st Runner Up and Rosemae Cabasura of CBE as 2nd Runner Up. In the male division, Steven Lumapas of CTE earned the title Mr. SMC 2026, while John Brian Georpre of COC placed 1st Runner Up and John Lloyd Estrera of CBE secured 2nd Runner Up.
More than a pageant, the event reflected unity and shared pride among departments. Applause filled the venue not just for the winners, but for every finalist who stepped forward with confidence, purpose, and heart. Each title symbolized leadership, service, and the values that Southern Mindanao Colleges continues to uphold after 86 years.
As the crowns were raised and cameras flashed, the Top 3 finalists did more than win titles. They reminded the SMC community that true distinction shines brightest when excellence, dedication, and pride walk together on one stage.
