The Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology Program successfully conducted its ๐ท๐๐-๐ฐ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐ at the PIT Balay Alumni as part of its ongoing commitment to preparing students for their upcoming internships and professional engagement.
The seminar aimed to equip students with the essential knowledge, values, and responsibilities expected of future professionals in the field of marine biology. Discussions during the seminar focused on Values Integration, Mental Health Awareness, Workplace Ethics, Physical, Sexual, and Drug Awareness, as well as Internship Policies and Guidelines. These topics were presented to strengthen students' personal development, professional conduct, workplace readiness, and overall well-being as they transition into experiential learning and industry immersion.
The orientation emphasized the importance of professionalism, discipline, accountability, respect, and ethical behavior in the workplace, while also promoting awareness of mental health and personal safety. Furthermore, students were properly guided through the institutional policies, expectations, and procedures that will govern their internship experience.
Through this initiative, the BS Marine Biology Program reaffirms its dedication to producing competent, values-oriented, and socially responsible marine professionals prepared to contribute meaningfully to their respective workplaces and communities.
This undertaking supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 14: Life Below Water.
