Some lives are defined not only by the years they have lived, but by the people they have inspired, the values they have upheld, and the difference they have made along the way. Today, we celebrate our University President, Dr. Rosanie F. Estuche, as she marks another year of life and service to the City University of Pasay (CUP) community.

Under her leadership, CUP continues to move forward with excellence, unity, professionalism, and integrity at its core. Her commitment has helped nurture an institution that strives not only for achievement, but also for a lasting sense of purpose in serving its students and the wider community.

As she celebrates this special day, may the year ahead bring Dr. Estuche renewed strength, fulfilling milestones, and countless moments of joy. May she continue to find meaning in the work she leads and in the lives she touches along the way. Happy Birthday, Dr. Estuche! Can your words and visuals tell one powerful story?

Bring your creative partner and put collaboration to the test in Multimedia War: The Battle of Words and Visuals on September 24, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at the City University of Pasay (CUP) Student Activity Center (SAC), as part of Ang Salimbay’s 3rd Founding Anniversary.

Each pair will have one graphic artist and one writer. Given the same topic and description, the two will work together to create a publication material and its accompanying caption within 1 hour and 30 minutes. The graphic artist may use a phone, tablet, or laptop, while the writer will work strictly with pen and paper.

Entries will be judged on relevance and content accuracy, visual appeal and design, writing quality and mechanics, and how well the words and visuals work together. AI use, plagiarism, cheating, and unauthorized assistance are strictly prohibited.

JOURKNOWS: Guess the Journo is bringing a battle of knowledge and quick thinking to the City University of Pasay (CUP) Student Activity Center (SAC) on September 23, 2026, at 1:30 P.M. as part of Ang Salimbay’s 3rd Founding Anniversary.

Gather 3–4 CUPians, whether from the same college or different colleges, and take on three rounds of questions. Stay sharp, wait for the “GO” signal, and make every answer count. There will be no elimination, giving every team a chance to build their score until the final round.

The seminar invites CUPians to look beyond writing as a skill and explore the responsibility that comes with informing, questioning, and giving voice to the university community. The two-day occasion brings the CUP community together to celebrate the organization, its people, and the work behind every story, visual, and broadcast produced for the university.

The City University of Pasay (CUP) Kaagapay is holding the “Beyond the Mind: Understanding Mental Health” seminar, which began at 1:30 P.M. today, September 22, 2026, at the CUP Student Activity Center, Room 407. Students from different colleges will gain insights into mental health, deepen their understanding of mental well-being, and learn the importance of seeking support when needed.

The City University of Pasay (CUP) Central Student Council (CSC) is currently conducting the PUBLAB Seminar Workshop today, September 21, 2026, which started at 9:00 A.M. at the Student Activity Center, Room 407, where students are gaining insights and techniques to bring their creative concepts to life through engaging discussions and hands-on activities.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗜-𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗦𝗬𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗜𝗨𝗠

The City University of Pasay (CUP), together with its Student Government Organizations (SGOs) and students, took part in the Anti-Rabies Symposia at Jose Rizal Elementary School, Pasay City, on September 19, 2026, from 1:43 P.M. to 4:50 P.M., in celebration of World Rabies Day with the theme “Stronger Together.”

The program opened with the acknowledgment of participants, followed by a presentation on the accomplishments of the Pasay City Veterinary Office and welcome remarks from City Veterinarian Dr. Ronn Kristian S. Bernasor. Messages of support were then delivered by representatives of Hon. Luigi Calixto Rubiano, Councilor and Committee on Education Chairperson, through Mr. Aldrin Espiritu; Hon. Antonino “Tony” G. Calixto, Lone District Congressman, through Mr. Nick Reyes; and Hon. Imelda “Emi” Calixto-Rubiano, Pasay City Mayor, through Ms. Micmic Espedido.

To begin the discussions, Dr. Myra Somogod, Head of the Pasay City Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC), discussed the current rabies situation in Pasay City. Following this, Dr. Bernasor covered basic anti-rabies information, including its transmission, prevention, and signs, followed by a presentation on responsible pet ownership.

Continuing the discussion, Atty. Anna Hashim-Cabrera, Executive Director of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), discussed Republic Act No. 9482 or the Anti-Rabies Act of 2007, emphasizing responsible pet ownership and rabies prevention. She later discussed Republic Act No. 8485 or the Animal Welfare Act of 1998, highlighting the importance of compassion and responsible treatment of animals.

Moving forward, Ms. Eunice Mendoza, Community Education Manager of the Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC), discussed the role of education in empowering communities against rabies. Following this, Mr. Angelo Jade Caputolan of Compassion and Responsibility for Animals (CARA) Welfare presented the Catch-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (CNVR) program as a humane approach to community animal population management.

After the discussions, the program proceeded to the Slogan Making Contest and awarding ceremony, where Contestant No. 9 placed first with 93.33, followed by Contestant No. 6 with 91.33 and Contestant No. 5 with 89.00. The winners received cash prizes and tokens of appreciation.

To conclude the symposia, Dr. Bernasor delivered the closing remarks, thanking the participants and encouraging everyone to put the lessons on rabies prevention, responsible pet ownership, and animal welfare into practice. The program closed with a shared call for a safer, more informed, and rabies-free Pasay City.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝟰𝟭𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗨𝗣 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The City University of Pasay (CUP) joined thousands of volunteers from various sectors at the 41st International Coastal Cleanup at Central Park, SM by the Bay, Pasay City, on September 19, 2026, beginning at 6:00 A.M.

Led by SM Cares in coordination with the Pasay City Local Government Unit (LGU) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the activity carried the theme “Bayanihan Para sa Karagatan: Together for Our Oceans,” bringing participants together to address coastal waste and promote marine ecosystem protection.

The initiative highlighted the importance of bayanihan and shared responsibility in keeping coastal communities clean and safeguarding the country’s marine environment.
