The College of Technology of Bohol Island State University (BISU) – Bilar Campus formally communicated a request to the Main Campus for the comprehensive inspection and technical assessment of several food laboratory equipment units that had become non-operational due to mechanical and electrical malfunctions. The condition of these laboratory facilities significantly affected the delivery of practical instruction, as a number of laboratory exercises could not be fully realized without functional equipment. Recognizing the importance of hands-on learning in technical education, immediate intervention was sought to restore these essential instructional tools.

On March 3, 2026, a competent technical team from the Main Campus responded promptly to this request. The team was spearheaded by their Department Chair, Mr. Jonathan D. Tayabas, accompanied by Mr. Fernand B. Tiongson, a highly skilled and experienced faculty member, together with five diligent, resourceful, and technically proficient students from the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R). Equipped with the necessary tools, technical knowledge, and a strong spirit of service, the team arrived at the campus fully prepared to address the identified concerns.

The group conducted a systematic and thorough inspection of the malfunctioning equipment. Beyond mere assessment, they demonstrated hands-on expertise by performing immediate troubleshooting, recalibration, parts adjustment, and necessary on-site repairs. Their technical competence, efficiency, and collaborative teamwork resulted in the successful restoration of several laboratory units to full operational condition.

Through their timely intervention, the Food Preparation Service Technology (FPST) students can now fully utilize the laboratory facilities during their practical sessions, thereby ensuring the continuity of quality instruction and experiential learning.

The Industrial Technology Department, particularly the Food Preparation Service Technology program, expresses its highest commendation and sincere appreciation to the Industrial Mechanical Systems Technology team for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering support. Their generous assistance exemplifies inter-campus collaboration, technical excellence, and a shared commitment to advancing academic standards.

With deep gratitude, we thank the team for extending their expertise and service to the Bilar Campus. Their contribution has not only restored equipment but has also strengthened our collective mission to provide effective, industry-relevant, and high-quality technical education to our students.
