The General Education Department will hold the Midterm Examinations on September 14 to 15, 2026 (Monday and Tuesday). Please take a moment to check the photos posted for your assigned rooms and examination schedules.

We encourage everyone to come on time, bring the needed materials, and be in proper school attire. May these exams be an opportunity for you to show the fruits of your effort and learning. The Department wishes you all the best as you take your midterms.

The General Education Department successfully conducted WIKIWARS: A Wikipedia Navigation Challenge on September 7, 2026, as part of the NAAP Charter Day Celebration.

Open to students from across the Academy, WikiWars challenged participants to race from one Wikipedia article to another using only the hyperlinks they encountered along the way—testing their general knowledge, strategy, speed, and ability to make connections across seemingly unrelated topics.

After a series of elimination and championship rounds, the following participants emerged victorious:

The activity also highlighted how general education can create spaces for students from different academic backgrounds to compete on common ground. Rather than relying on specialized program knowledge, participants had to recognize relationships among topics, identify useful article links, and quickly determine possible routes toward their assigned destination.

Through WikiWars, the General Education Department introduced a fast-paced and accessible academic competition that combined digital literacy, curiosity, strategy, and general knowledge in an interactive format.

The Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences (ILAS) successfully concluded its AACCUP Level II Accreditation activities held on 24–28 August 2026, marking another important milestone in the Institute’s continuing pursuit of academic quality and institutional development.

The Level II accreditation covered the Institute’s four academic programs:

‣𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺, 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

The accrediting teams evaluated the programs across the prescribed areas of accreditation through documentary review, presentations, interviews, and validation of institutional practices, accomplishments, and supporting evidences.

Throughout the week, the Dean, Department Chairpersons, Program Coordinators, faculty members, accreditation area teams, students, and personnel from various academic and administrative offices participated in the evaluation and provided the necessary documents, information, and clarifications to the accreditors.

The activity culminated in an Exit Conference, during which the accrediting teams presented their observations, commendations, recommendations, and suggestions for the continued enhancement of the four programs.

ILAS welcomes the insights shared during the Level II accreditation and looks forward to translating these into concrete actions toward the continuous improvement of its academic programs, systems, and services.

The Institute extends its sincere appreciation to the AACCUP Accreditors, the Administration, faculty and staff, students, and all offices and individuals who contributed to the successful conduct of this important quality assurance undertaking.

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) has directed the shift of weekend classes to online modality, August 29-30, amid the expected effects of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat over the weekend.

The move is intended to ensure the safety of students and faculty as weather conditions are expected to affect parts of Metro Manila and nearby areas.

Faculty members and students are advised to coordinate regarding their respective class arrangements and to continue monitoring official advisories.
