𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝟱𝟬𝗞: 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘀, 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗴-𝗮𝘀𝗮 ✏️

A simple pencil can spark learning, confidence, and hope for a child. 💙

Project 50K aims to raise 𝟱𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝘀 for Grades 1 to 3 pupils to support their early writing and learning needs. With just 3 pencils per child, 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟭𝟲,𝟲𝟬𝟬 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 as they begin another school year filled with dreams and opportunities.

These donations will be distributed during 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗘𝘀𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 to selected elementary schools in need.

Every pencil donated is a step toward empowering a child’s education. ✨

Tuwing Mayo Uno, ipinagdiriwang natin ang Araw ng Uring Manggagawa.

Ang kasaysayan ng Araw ng Uring Manggagawa ay maiuugat sa mga kaganapang may kinalaman sa pag-aaklas ng mga manggagawa sa Estados Unidos noong panahon ng Industriyalisayon sa huling bahagi ng ika-19 na siglo. Noong ika-4 ng Mayo 1886 sa Chicago, Illinois, isinagawa ang mapayapang demonstrasyon na naglalayong bawasan ang 10-16 oras ng pagtatrabaho sa 8 oras kada araw. Sa kasamaang palad, karamihan sa mga hindi armadong nakibaka ay pinatay ng mga pulis. Ang naganap na masaker ay kikilalanin bilang Haymarket Affair. Taong 1889, itatalaga ng ‘Second International’ (o pederasyon ng mga Sosyalistang partido at unyon na nakabase sa Europa) ang Mayo Uno bilang paggunita sa naganap na masaker sa Haymarket Affair. Ang balita ng kilusan ay aalingawngaw sa buong mundo, at tutulong sa pagsiklab ng damdaming maka-manggagawa sa mga dekada pang darating.

Sa Pilipinas, noong ika-1 ng Mayo, 1903, higit-kumulang 100,000 Pilipinong manggagawa—na pinangunahan ng Union Obrera Democratica de Filipinas (UODF)—ang nagmartsa mula sa Plaza Moriones sa Tondo, patungo sa Malacañan para sa panawagan na patalsikin ang imperyalistang Estados Unidos at patas na pasahod. Hanggang ngayon, kinikilala ang demonstrasyong ito bilang kauna-unahang demonstrasyong manggagawa na sa Pilipinas na isinagawa sa araw ng Mayo Uno.

Ang kapangyarihan ng mga kilusang manggagawa noon ang nagsilbing pundasyon para magkaroon ng pagbabago sa kundisyon ng mga manggagawa hanggang sa ngayon. Ang 8 oras na pgtatrabaho kada araw ay naging pandaigdigang pamantayan. Ang mga batas sa paggawa, kubdulang sahod, at mga regulasyon sa kaligtasan ay naisabatas din, at patuloy na sinusuportahan ng mga pandaigdigang organisasyon tulad ng International Labor Organization (ILO).

Hindi matatawaran ang tapang, dugo, at pawis na inalay ng mga rebolusyonaryo upang makamit natin kung ano man ang mayroon tayo ngayon. Huwag natin kalimutang magbigay-pugay sa mga manggagawa sa kahit saang sektor. Patuloy nating ipaglaban ang kanilang karaptan sapagkat ang isang bayang matagumpay ay may mataas na pagkilala sa mga bumubuhay rito. Ang aktibismo ay hindi terorismo.

Mabuhay ang lahat ng uring manggagawa sa Pilipinas at ng daigdig! 🇵🇭✊🏼
