Optimization in Action! 🚀

Our BSDS students recently stepped into the role of lead consultants for their final projects in Operations Research. Each student developed a unique business scenario for a fictional company—ranging from logistics to resource management—and tackled their "client's" toughest challenges using Linear Programming.

These posters represent more than just math; they represent data-driven decision-making and the power of optimization. Check out how our future Data Scientists are using LP to find the best solutions in complex environments! 💼📊

A Joyful Outreach with Sagip Batampalengke 🎄✨

The BSDS program and the Math Department successfully held an outreach with 25 children from Sagip Batampalengke, a joyful celebration filled with games, laughter, and sharing. The children’s smiles and energy reflected the true spirit of the season — community, care, and hope.

The event was made more meaningful through the active participation of students and faculty, whose time and effort brought joy to the children and strengthened the bond between the academic community and the wider public.

This program was made possible through the generosity of our donors, whose contributions ensured that every child experienced a memorable day. Their support provided the resources that allowed the celebration to be carried out in meaningful ways.

Together, students, faculty, and donors showed that when a community unites, the season becomes brighter for those who need it most. 💖

Help us spread Holiday Cheer! 🎄

The UA&P Math Department and BSDS Program are celebrating the holidays by supporting 20 children from Sagip Batampalengke, an advocacy group focused on fighting child labor near public markets.

We aim to raise Php 20,000 to help them reach their full potential for a brighter future!

How to Donate:

In-Kind (Pang-Noche Buena): Drop off your donations at the SSE Office (5th floor, CAS building). Items needed are:

Spaghetti pasta & sauce

Boxed Cheese

Canned luncheon meat

Pamasko na damit (Christmas clothes) for children aged 7-12 years old.

Donations accepted until December 4 (Thursday). Let's spread the joy and kindness this holiday season!

📚 Empowering peers through data.

On November 7, our BS Data Science seniors Josemaria Fernando and Alan Mallari took the lead in a fun and insightful session on PowerBI and Data Visualization. 💻📊

They walked the younger BSDS batches through the basics of turning data into stories — a must-have skill in today’s data-driven world.
