HISTORY OF GREENVILLE COLLEGE:
Education and friendship were the keys that opened the door of Greenville College. In the 70’s, ten educators, who, some of them taught here and in the United States for almost 25 years, bought 12 lots in Green park Village, a subdivision in Pasig. Because of their friendship and their goal of educating the youth, they decided to start a school and in no time, they a

ttended the ground breaking ceremony on Sept. 29, 1986. In 1987, “The Development Education Centre” was incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Greenville School was born. Later, the enrollment increased by 200% which encouraged the administration to offer complete elementary and secondary levels of education. Recognition for basic education was granted on July 13, 1992 to gather with a permit to offer courses. Sooner, Greenville School became Greenville College. Greenville College does very little promotion but in spite of this, public and private school teachers and government employees heard about its existence and they requested that graduate studies courses be offered. The mission on Higher Education granted the permit and recognition to offer MBA,MPA,DPA, and MA in Education. The enrolment in this course is amazing. With the continuous support of CHED, the Department of Education, and the community, Greenville College will surely continue in achieving its mission of developing to the optimum man’s potentials for ultimate service to God and Humanity,, with the commitment to achieve their goals: providing quality Education in all levels through a competent faculty, adequate facilities and substantial resources relevant to national goals; establishing and maintaining an expansive program for the sciences, technology and the humanities through a system of facilities improvement, continuing professional education for faculty and curriculum enrichment. The High School Department of Greenville College is very proud of their students who have joined different competitions in the entire district of Pasig. The Pre-School Department of Greenville College started modernizing its approach in preschool education. The school uses the Montessori approach of Education. Its classroom is provided with various materials which Dr. Maria Montessori called Prepared Environment. In the Montessori set up, the child is trained to become independent, by letting him work with the various materials in the prepared environment. The members of the faculty have broad educational background and teaching experiences and are now carrying the torch, which their mentors passed on the next generations, proving to one and all that Greenville College is not just an ordinary institution. It is a school of learning geared towards the education of the youth who will lead the future of our nation. Greenville College is a recipient of 13 government recognitions granted by the CHED and Dep.ED. At present, five courses/programs are offered by the Graduate School, Doctor of Education, Doctor of Public Administration, Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management, Master in Public administration and Master in Special Education. In the College Department, five bachelor courses are offered: Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration, Bachelor of Arts in English, Bachelor of Secondary Education and Bachelor of Elementary Education one of the major accomplishments of Greenville College is the improvement of the graduate school in terms of teaching strategy, including research and upgraded equipment and facilities. This year, Greenville College turns 26. It is still standing, continuing its struggle against all odds. Right now, the main concern of the School Management is to improve the physical aspect, including particularly the academics. It takes a lot of resources and energy combined in attaining the aspirations and objectives of the school. All these challenges, lower income, high expenditures, faculty an staff mounting complaints, and come what may, Greenville College will survive strong in its mission towards developing man’s potential for ultimate service to God and humanity.
