Ministry Week Raw Vlog (with no trending audio)

Strengthening Bonds: A Life-Changing Ministry Trip for Church and Community đź’™

Watch as the Messiah College Students (Blue Team) go on a fulfilling trip to Padre Garcia, Batangas!

Fun Fact! đź’ˇ
Brgy. Cawongan is named after the Cawongan tree, also known as the Molave tree (Vitex parviflora), a symbol of strength and resilience. Just as this tree endures through the toughest conditions, we pray that the students of Messiah College and the communities they serve will grow with deep roots in Christ, empowering them to stand firm and persevere through life's challenges. To God be the glory!

What is Ministry Week?
Every year, student-led teams are deployed to our partner churches outside Metro Manila for 5 days. Since 2006, we have helped more than 80 churches in over 40 locations in 13 provinces. Our teams assist the local church by leading worship services, teaching Sunday School, and sharing the Gospel on the streets, in homes, orphanages, and in tribal areas. They also conduct livelihood projects, development seminars, and feeding programs.

This is in line with our goal to provide diverse missions and ministry opportunities for students to cultivate a passion for service.

The Freshies’ Leadership Training reminded me that sharing the Gospel is not just a light switch that we can turn on and off whenever we want. It is part of our identity. We were reminded that we cannot give what we do not have, and that the Gospel is something we can only share if we have truly experienced God ourselves.

During our sessions, we learned practical ways to connect with others and share God’s love in our daily conversations. We were even given the opportunity to practice street evangelism. Although approaching strangers was challenging at first, the Holy Spirit gave us the courage and wisdom to share the good news despite our fears and inexperience.

That night, we were taught how to grow deeper in our quiet time with God, not out of obligation, but as a response to His love. We were reminded that God desires to spend time with us, that we are chosen, and that intimacy with Him is the key to bearing spiritual fruit.

The next morning, Pastor Angel shared from Isaiah 48:18 and reminded us that to recognize God’s present work, we must learn to let go of past failures and victories. New beginnings require release, and God can be trusted even in unfamiliar places.

Our third session taught us what it truly means to be a servant leader. Just as Jesus came to serve and not to be served, we were shown the example of humility through the washing of feet. This reminded us that leadership begins with serving others.

Our final session focused on having an undivided heart. We were encouraged to surrender our hearts of stone, our stubbornness and unresponsiveness, and allow God to give us hearts that are alive and sensitive to His will.

I am beyond grateful for this experience and for how God used every session to refresh our hearts and minds. It was also a beautiful opportunity to grow closer as a community, especially during our bonfire night, as we shared our testimonies.

All glory and honor to God.
