The UA&P School of Management (SMN) was established in 1996, evolving from the Business Economics School of the Center for Research and Communication. One of its first programs was the BA Humanities with a specialization in Entrepreneurial Management, followed by the Master of Science in Management 5-Year Program. In the following years, SMN introduced the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurial Ma

nagement (BSEM), the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in 2010, and the MScM Evening Program for professionals in 2012. The BSBA with specialization in Business Analytics was launched in 2014, alongside the restructuring of AMP and CME under Southeast Asian Business Studies (SEABS). The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) was added in 2016, and the Master in Applied Business Analytics (MABA) in 2018.

From July 2โ€“4, Mr. Patrick Zeta, a full-time faculty member of the UA&P School of Management, participated in the 2026 Conference on Interdisciplinary Business & Economics Research, organized by the Society of Interdisciplinary Business Research (SIBR) in Osaka, Japan, under the theme "Geopolitical Risks, International Business, and Investment: Interdisciplinary Perspectives.โ€

Mr. Zeta presented his research, co-authored with Mr. Jyro Triviรฑo, Assistant Professor at Ateneo de Manila University and Lecturer at the UA&P School of Management, entitled โ€œAssessment of Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies Among Undergraduate Students: A Comparative Gender Analysis.โ€

Key officials from the Arizona State University (ASU)-Thunderbird School of Global Management visited the University of Asia and the Pacific on May 18 to discuss the possible areas of partnership through the 100 Million Learners (100ML) Global Initiative.

The ASU delegation was headed by Mr. Simon Turner - Global Lead for Partnerships and 100 Million Learners initiative. Dr. Ruel Maningas, the UA&P School of Management (SMN) Vice Dean and focal point for SMNโ€™s internationalization program took the lead in the discussion on behalf of UA&P. Other key UA&P officials present during the visit were Dr. Fe Gladys Golo -Vice President for Academic and Faculty Affairs, Ms. Aurea Cruz - Vice President for Administration and Finance, Ms. Adoracion Relos - Quality Assurance Office (QAO) Accreditations and Rankings Head, Ms. Jodie Claire Ngo - BSBA Program Director and SMN Operations Committee (OPCOM) Secretary, and Ms.Elsie Laguador - SMN Consultant.

Mr. Turner, together with Ms. Samantha Alvis of the Thunderbird School of Global Management, presented the 100 Million Learners Global initiative and outlined the 100ML Partnership Framework. They also highlighted several examples of how 100ML has collaborated with universities worldwide, including the Global Entrepreneurship and Business Essentials Bootcamp and courses offered by the Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation Foundation.

The visit was made possible through the support of Ms. Jenny Ho-Vijungco, Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Arizona, who assisted in coordinating the visit, along with Ms. Jhona Camba, UA&P Senior International Affairs Officer. (By RV Maningas)
