𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. 🌱

As part of its continuing commitment to professional development, the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) conducted a series of Staff Development and Training Activities from September 29-30 to October 2, 2026 at the CPSC Conference Room.

The activities were designed to strengthen workplace skills, enhance professional competencies, and support the effective performance of various roles and responsibilities. The training sessions covered the following:

1️⃣ Pag-IBIG MP2 Savings Program Orientation (September 29)
Facilitated by Pag-IBIG representatives

2️⃣ Office Productivity Tools and Basic Troubleshooting (September 30)
Facilitated by the CPSC ICT Division

3️⃣ APACC Documentation Associate Training (October 2)
Facilitated by APACC and Prof. Naeem Yaqoob, Faculty Specialist

Through this training, the CPSC Local and Professional Staff were given opportunities to learn, share, and grow together, strengthening the knowledge and capabilities that support the College’s work.

The CPSC Director General, Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, had the honor of meeting with the Honourable Minister of State for External Affairs of the Government of India, H.E. Mr. Pabitra Margherita, during his visit to the Embassy of India in Manila on September 3, 2026.

At the invitation of H.E. Shri Harsh Kumar Jain, Ambassador of India to the Philippines, Prof. Dhameja shared an overview of the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), its work in advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across the Asia-Pacific, and opportunities for collaboration with the Government of India.

The exchange opened a promising avenue for exploring how India and CPSC can work together in support of skills development and TVET cooperation across the region.

The CPSC Director General, Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Stephen Pokanis OBE DCS, Ambassador of Papua New Guinea to the Philippines, on April 8, 2026 in Manila, Philippines.

During the visit, the DG welcomed His Excellency as one of the new Members of the CPSC Governing Board and shared the College’s mandate, programs, and services, as well as its renewed engagement with Papua New Guinea. The discussions highlighted the successful implementation of face-to-face and online programs for PNG and the signing of an MOU with PNG’s Ministry of Education on accreditation activities through APACC.

H.E. Mr. Pokanis, who previously served as Commissioner of the Papua New Guinea Correctional Service, brings a wealth of experience in public service and administration to his engagement with the College.

The CPSC Director General, Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mrs. Ei Ei Tin, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on August 12, 2026 at the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

H.E. Mrs. Ei Ei Tin has served Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1993, holding various diplomatic and senior positions in Myanmar’s missions in Geneva, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, London, and Bangkok. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with several national awards, including the Public Service Medal, Outstanding Public Service Medal, and Outstanding Administrative Service Medal.

CPSC warmly welcomes Her Excellency as a new Member of the CPSC Governing Board and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing TVET development across the Asia-Pacific region.

🔎📚 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀.

The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) brought together a delegation of TVET professionals for the Regional Program on "Practical Tools for TVET Research," which was held virtually from September 7 to 11, 2026.

The program provided a highly hands-on learning experience, equipping participants with practical tools for developing research problems, designing studies, collecting and analyzing data, and translating research findings into meaningful TVET actions. Through interactive sessions and workshops, the delegates also worked on their research proposals as the keystone project of the program.

Participants came from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam, including representatives from Cagayan State University (CSU) and APACC-accredited institutions such as Samar National School of Arts and Trades (SNSAT), TESDA Regional Training Center - Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center, and TESDA Concepcion Vocational School (CVS) in the Philippines. The program also welcomed participants from Vietnam, one of CPSC's Charter Member Countries.

The program was implemented under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar Dhameja, CPSC Director General, with Prof. Rhodora Ulan, Faculty Specialist, as Program Coordinator and Prof. Chandana Edirisinghe as Program Co-Coordinator. The program also drew on the expertise of Prof. Naeem Yaqoob, Faculty Specialist, and Ms. Arlene Monge, Research Officer, as resource persons.

With new tools in hand and research ideas taking shape, the participants are now better equipped to carry their learning forward and apply research more purposefully in their respective TVET contexts.

𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

From September 7 to 11, 2026, the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) Bangladesh, hosted the Bangladesh–Philippines Knowledge Exchange Visit, bringing together 17 representatives from Bangladesh to explore approaches to strengthening TVET and employment systems in the Philippines.

Through institutional visits, technical sessions, and meaningful conversations, the delegation exchanged insights on TVET governance, public employment services, labour market information, digital systems, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), green skills, industry partnerships, and workforce development.

With the successful completion of the study visit, we extend our sincere gratitude to the esteemed agencies and institutions that warmly welcomed our delegates and generously shared their expertise and experiences.
