One of our studies on lignicolous aquatic fungi in the Philippines yielded two new records of freshwater Sordariomycetes in the genera ๐๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ด๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ด๐ฎ๐ข and ๐๐ณ๐ช๐ค๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ข. The newly collected specimens, UPVMI 24โ0003 and UPVMI 24โ0004, exhibit morphological similarities to the holotypes of ๐๐ณ๐ช๐ค๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ข ๐ฑ๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ฐ๐ญ๐ข (SFC 20130926-S233) and ๐๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ด๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ด๐ฎ๐ข ๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ข๐ฏ๐จ๐ณ๐ข๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ด๐ฆ (MFLU 18โ1722), respectively. Combined ITS-TEF1-ฮฑ phylogenetic analysis showed that UPVMI 24โ0003 clustered with the ex-type strain of ๐. ๐ฑ๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ฐ๐ญ๐ข (KACC 48486), and with ๐. ๐ด๐ช๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ญ๐ฆ๐น (HMAS 248842) as a sister taxon. The isolate UPVMI 24โ0004 grouped with three strains of ๐. ๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ข๐ฏ๐จ๐ณ๐ข๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ด๐ฆ (MFLUCC 18-0703, MFLUCC 18-0336, and GMB0090), with 97% ML and 1.00 BYPP bootstrap supports in the ITS phylogeny. We provide detailed descriptions and illustrations for both ๐. ๐ฑ๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ฐ๐ญ๐ข and ๐. ๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ข๐ฏ๐จ๐ณ๐ข๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ด๐ฆ, along with a synopsis of morphological characters for freshwater ๐๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ด๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ด๐ฎ๐ข species.
