On December 7, 2025, the Alpha Phi Omega Sorority - Eta Chapter successfully held โSa Bawat Pahina: Kuwentong Paskoโ at the Bagong Silang Community Library. The event gathered children from the Bagong Silang community for a day of an interactive reading session facilitated by The Happy Ripples, followed by games, a Christmas card-making activity, and a shared meal. โค๏ธ
The project aimed to promote literacy and create a supportive learning environment for the children. Through this event, we were able to distribute books, school supplies, toys, and provide interactive learning experiences that encouraged participation and engagement.
With our hearts so full of gratitude, here's a transparent breakdown of the funds and how they were used to bring joy to the kids of the Bagong Silang Community this Christmas:
๐ฐ Total Donations Accumulated: โฑ8,175.58
๐ธ Total Expenditures: โฑ8,175
Thanks to your generosity, we were able to:
- Provide 50 lunch packs for 40 kids and 10 volunteers
- Distribute 72 books and school supplies
- Give 40 loot bags and 40 toys
Some of the books and materials used during the activity were in-art copies and donated learning resources, utilized strictly for educational and non-commercial purposes to make the reading sessions more accessible to the children.
Every single peso went directly into making this event a meaningful and memorable experience for the children. Your support truly made a difference! ๐
This success of the project was made possible through the support of The Happy Ripples, whose help and involvement played a significant role in making the event meaningful. The chapter also extends its gratitude to the Bagong Silang Community Library, which started as Libreng Basa, Libreng Tinapay, which continues to serve as a space for learning despite persistent challenges.
As emphasized by Ate Via of the Bagong Silang Community, the library functions as a starting point rather than a long-term solution. While community initiatives can help address immediate needs, access to quality education remains a responsibility of the state. ๐
Through partnerships with community organizations, the Alpha Phi Omega Sorority โ Eta Chapter remains committed to advancing literacy and supporting community-based efforts toward education.
In the spirit of Leadership, Friendship, and Service. โ
