Organized by Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers - National Student Chapter at Quezon City University, the team consists of three 3rd year IE students and a 2nd year student which were also the champions in the recently held IE Quiz Bee during the university week 2026 celebration.

Congratulations to John Daniel Cimanes, 4th Year Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering student of Quezon City University, for presenting the Gold Medal-winning paper/project, “CANOPHEX: From Space to Soil: A Smart Sustainable Reforestation System,” during the Innovation Congress (ICON) and the International Research Conference on Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences 3.0 (IRCPAS 3.0), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 26–28, 2026.

The paper was awarded Gold in the Commercialization Category, recognizing its innovation, relevance, and strong potential as a smart and sustainable solution to environmental challenges.

The project team also included Journey Ruth N. Javines, Vincent Lawrence D. Alcala, John Ezra U. Damiago, Emanuel Francis F. Larua, Jericho M. Luna, and Raniel Rick F. Peña. Their adviser is Dr. Ryan F. Arago, Dean, QCU-CoE.

This achievement highlights the creativity, technical capability, and research excellence of QCU students on the international stage.

Quezon City University proudly congratulates John Daniel Cimanes for this remarkable accomplishment and for bringing honor to the University through his outstanding paper presentation.
