Librado Inocencio Ureta, affectionately known as “Bado,” was born on March 18, 1905, in a small town in Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines. Despite being orphaned at an early age, his unwavering determination, dedication, hard work, and insatiable thirst for learning transformed life’s challenges into unparalleled achievements.
Here’s a glimpse into the remarkable life of Dr. Librado I. Ureta:
Education:
*Graduated valedictorian from high school.
*Earned Associate in Arts and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of the Philippines (UP) and the Union Theological Seminary.
*Pursued Master’s degrees in English and Education from the Far Eastern University (FEU) and the University of Buffalo in New York.
*Attained Doctorate degrees in Education, Philosophy, and Student Personnel Administration from the Centro Escolar University (Manila), Southwestern University (Tucson, AZ), and Columbia University (New York City), respectively.
Contributions:
*Served as a Professor in Psychology and Guidance and a professional lecturer at various colleges and universities in the Philippines.
*Organized and founded the first chapter of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) in the Philippines on March 2, 1950, while a graduate student at FEU.
*Dedicated 29 years to the National Executive Board (NEB) of APO, holding various positions, including First National President.
Elected National President again in 1969, a position he held until 1979.
*Honored as National President Emeritus from 1979 until his passing on January 22, 1991.
Bado’s legacy lives on as the father of APO-Philippines. His commitment to leadership, friendship, and service continues to inspire generations of APO members. 🌟🇵🇭
