Happy birthday to BRO. DR. LIBRADO INOCENCIO URETA, the organizer of ALPHA PHI OMEGA PHILIPPINES! 🎉🎂🎈

Librado Inocencio Ureta, affectionately known as “Bado,” was born on March 18, 1905, in a small town in Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines. Despite being orphaned at an early age, his unwavering determination, dedication, hard work, and insatiable thirst for learning transformed life’s challenges into unparalleled achievements.

Here’s a glimpse into the remarkable life of Dr. Librado I. Ureta:

Education:
*Graduated valedictorian from high school.
*Earned Associate in Arts and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of the Philippines (UP) and the Union Theological Seminary.
*Pursued Master’s degrees in English and Education from the Far Eastern University (FEU) and the University of Buffalo in New York.
*Attained Doctorate degrees in Education, Philosophy, and Student Personnel Administration from the Centro Escolar University (Manila), Southwestern University (Tucson, AZ), and Columbia University (New York City), respectively.

Contributions:
*Served as a Professor in Psychology and Guidance and a professional lecturer at various colleges and universities in the Philippines.
*Organized and founded the first chapter of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) in the Philippines on March 2, 1950, while a graduate student at FEU.
*Dedicated 29 years to the National Executive Board (NEB) of APO, holding various positions, including First National President.
Elected National President again in 1969, a position he held until 1979.
*Honored as National President Emeritus from 1979 until his passing on January 22, 1991.

Bado’s legacy lives on as the father of APO-Philippines. His commitment to leadership, friendship, and service continues to inspire generations of APO members. 🌟🇵🇭

Laging may ngiti sa aking puso dahil ipinagmamalaki kong ako ay isang Alpha Chapter, ang ugat ng APO dito sa Pilipinas. Ang aking paglalakbay ay hindi magiging ganito kung hindi dahil sa mga mahalagang tao sa aking chapter—mga seniors na nagbigay ng liwanag at gabay sa bawat hakbang ko. Ang kanilang mga aral ay tila mga bituin na patuloy na nagliliwanag sa aking landas, dala ko ang lahat ng natutunan sa bawat hamon ng buhay.

Sa bawat pagkakataon, ipapakita ko ang aking pagmamalaki sa ating samahan at ang mga aral na nagbibigay inspirasyon sa aking paglalakbay. Ang diwa ng pagkakaisa at serbisyo na itinuro sa akin ng APO ay hindi lamang isang bahagi ng aking pagkatao, kundi ito rin ay nagiging gabay sa aking mga desisyon at hakbang sa buhay.

Nais kong ipagpatuloy ang tradisyon ng pagmamahal at pagkalinga, at maging inspirasyon sa mga susunod na henerasyon. Sama-sama tayong magpatuloy sa paglikha ng mga kwentong puno ng pagmamahal, pagkakaibigan, at walang kapantay na serbisyo, upang ang ating samahan ay magpatuloy na maging ilaw sa komunidad at sa bawat isa sa atin. Ang ating kwento ay hindi nagtatapos dito; ito ay patuloy na umuunlad at lumalago, at ako’y nasasabik na maging bahagi ng bawat hakbang ng ating paglalakbay!

In Loving Memory of Bro. Jimmy De Castro

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of our beloved Past National President, Bro. Jimmy De Castro, Beta Chapter '74. His dedication, leadership, and service to Alpha Phi Omega Philippines have left an enduring legacy that will forever inspire generations of brothers and sisters.

We extend our deepest condolences to the De Castro family, Beta Chapter, and the entire APO community during this difficult time. May his memory continue to guide us in the spirit of Leadership, Friendship, and Service.

Rest in peace, dear brother. Your light will always shine in the fraternity.
