Every year some 70,000 high school students all over the Philippines take the University of the Philippines College Admissions Test (UPCAT) for acceptance in the country's premiere state university, or the "National University." can admit only a limited numer of students. colleges impose quotas on admission according to the size

of their faculty and facilities. The Diliman campus can only admit 3,285 students every year. Abueva, former U.P. President together with senior U.P. Professors believe in nurturing more student with UP-quality education and developing them into future intellectual icons and leaders of the country. Parents who dream of sending their children to the University of the Philippines for tertiary education can now expand their vision and send their children to Kalayaan College.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our Board of Directors, Mr. Baltazar Endriga.

In 1995, he was appointed by then Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos as President of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). He served as its President until 1999.

In August 2003, he became the President and Chief Academic Officer of University of the East. In 2010, Dr. Endriga founded Meridian International College (MINT College).
