𝘐𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵?

Maybe it was the professor who challenged you because they knew you could do better. The teacher who made time for a conversation you still remember. Or someone who believed in you when you were still learning to believe in yourself.

This World Teachers’ Day, the Ateneo Alumni Scholars Association honors the educators who helped shape not only the scholars we became, but also the people we are today. We also celebrate our Alumni Scholars who have found their calling in education, passing on the gift of learning and creating meaningful experiences for a new generation of students.

To every teacher who challenged us, believed in us and personally cared for us, thank you. And to our Alumni Scholars who now stand on the other side of the classroom, may you continue to be for your students what your teachers once were for you.

Congratulations to Sean Vergara and Stephanie Cale for passing the 2026 Psychometrician Licensure Examination (PmLE)! 🎉

As Class of 2026 AASA Scholars and Magna Cum Laude graduates of BS Psychology, Sean and Stephanie have given us yet another reason to celebrate our scholar community! Sean earned a spot in the Top 10 with an impressive 92.40% rating, while Stephanie proudly joins the 14,146 passers out of 15,423 examinees. This year’s results also recognize Ateneo as a top-performing school, with a 100% passing rate in the PmLE.

To Sean, Stephanie, and all our students who took the PmLE, congratulations! We’re excited to see where this chapter takes you. 💙💛

Working behind AASA’s programs and initiatives is a dedicated team of Student Assistants (SAs) who help strengthen the Association’s connection with our community of Alumni Scholars. This semester, our SAs will serve across four committees, each contributing to AASA’s mission in its own way.

The 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙚, led by Aly Abarrientos, brings AASA’s stories, announcements, and initiatives closer to our Alumni Scholars through engaging and meaningful content across our social media platforms.

The 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙚, led by Yanni Adoptante, helps keep our Alumni Scholars connected and informed through AASA’s communication channels, ensuring important updates, opportunities, and initiatives reach our community.

The 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙛𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙚, led by Kate Llanos, supports the organization and management of AASA’s records and data, helping keep the Association’s operations organized and its information up to date.

The 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙚, led by Miguel Purisima, transforms AASA’s stories and messages into compelling visual materials, bringing life to the Association’s advocacy across its various platforms.

Together, our Student Assistants work behind the scenes to support AASA’s programs, strengthen our connection with our Enrolled and Alumni Scholars, and continue building a vibrant community rooted in generosity and thanksgiving.

As we begin another semester, we look forward to what this team will accomplish alongside our Alumni Scholars here and abroad, who continue to generously embody the spirit of Scholars-for-Scholars and actively help in 𝙄𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙤𝙥𝙚 & 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨. ✨

Congratulations, Doc Jun!

The Ateneo Department of History congratulates Dr. Filomeno V. Aguilar Jr., Professor of History and the Associate Vice President for Research, Creative Work and Innovation, on his appointment as International Honorary Visiting Professor (Profesor Honorario Visitante Internacional) at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo (UAEH) in Mexico.

His investiture ceremony was held on Friday, September 4, at 17:00 Mexican Standard Time in the Salón de Actos Baltasar Muñoz Lumbier as part of the 39th edition of the Feria Universitaria del Libro (FUL).

This appointment highlights Dr. Aguilar’s scholarly contributions to historical research and fosters international academic exchange.

A month has passed since the first day of classes… 𝙆𝙪𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙠𝙖𝙮𝙤, 𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙨? 👋

It probably feels like yesterday when you were still looking for Room TBA, getting lost on campus, dealing with the Katip traffic, running late to class, and getting nervous about introducing yourself. Fast forward one month, hindi na lang introductions ang nagpapakaba—Canvas announcements na rin! 😭

But regardless of how chaotic your first month has been—with all the alternative modes of class sessions brought about by torrential rains and flooding—we hope you’re also taking a moment to appreciate how far you’ve come. 🫶
